Web Pages with Java

Postby Wedgie » Wed Jan 11, 2006 7:41 pm

For the last 12 months odd I've had delays with websites with Java embedded in them, is it just me?

It may be since I started using Firefox and it may also be since I set up my laptop to download bittorrents but every time I goto a website with Java I have a 30 second delay and then have a Java console pop up where I have to choose out of Clear, Copy or Close.

The only local club site that has Java (or that I have this problem with) is http://www.cdfc.com.au

Anyone else have this issue or know how I can fix it?

PS I have 1.5mb ADSL so speed isn't an issue.

Wedgie im on dial up so everything takes a while for me, but ill be gettin adsl probably some stage today, so ill give it a try then and see if i get the same problems. The only thing that i can think of, and you have probably already done this is to get the lastest version of Java. (1.5.0 i think the latest is).

Cheers, I don't know what causes it, weird.
In the old days I had no probs, but since I downloaded the latest java (as I said Im not sure if it was for a bittorrent site or firefox) its so damn slow for sites like that.
