i did have to have a laugh last night when some of the votes came up eg. we beat kilburn by 30goals and pressler got 2 votes (he did play well but really!?) and some of the exec committee even had a raised eyebrow

FFS umps the medal isnt an encouragement award! how can a side be done by 30 goals and have a player feature in the best 3 on the ground???

why can't one person in a losing team play well? Obviously the rest of the team were pretty ordinary.

i suppose that was my point, the 3,2,1 system is for the best 3 on the ground not 2 from the winners and one from the losing team. pressler did play well that game as i said but i could name 5-6 from us that were better.

Just had a look at the breakdown of votes.

L. Porplycia - 1 vote?

I managed to get a BOG despite not being in the best five (rightly so) at the club.

Robbie Douglas got no votes aginst us twice, depsite clearly being the best player on the ground.

Ha bit of a laugh really!

Portland v Mitcham - always going to be a close, hard fought game, but I think the Hawks have what it takes to get over the line and live another week. Always play well at Portland as well.
PAOC v Old Iggies - Week off wont help PAOC, and Old Iggies will be looking to get one back after loosing both games throughout the year. Would set up a great game the following week as well!

Tips

A's
Mitcham to upset Portland - 4 goals - Hawks to end Portlands finals Campaign. To be even in the first half, but the Hawks to break away in the 2nd with the div1 standard ball movement and hard running.

PAOC over Iggies - 5 goals - OI didn't play 4 quarters of footy last week, and if they cant put four quarters together against PAC, they cant win

B's
Mitcham over SMOSH - 1 goals - down to the wire, but Mitcham B's havent lost at the 'Thunderdome' for a long time now and should continue the good form from last weeks second half.

PAOC over Seaton - 3 goals - Seaton in good form, but cant see them stopping Pacs midfield

C's
Mitcham over Para Hills - 5 goals - If Elton can kick straight this week, the Hawks should get through. They dispayed a good brand of footy on Sunday comfortably accounting for SMOSH all over the ground.

PAC over Seaton - 6 goals - PAC simply too good

Good weekends for Mitcham and PAC!!!

Not doubting that a player in a losing side cant play well, of course there is going to be players in a losing side that stand out for their respective side. But in a 30 goal loss, i find it hard to believe somebody in the losing side can be one of the 3 best players on the ground

If our Div 1 ball movement doesn't win it for us, it will be our "highly intelligent coach" that does: http://saafl.asn.au/footy-news/166

I agree with you mate but have to give your blokes more credit than that. I think your midfield will be far too good for Iggies and the delivery in will suit your forwards better. I will say though, that it doesnt realy matter if you get the jump on Iggies they will push on to fight there way back. They are a great outfit but still think your guys will be too strong.

Oh and maybe the thunda to get up by more than 10 points ;)
