Driving History

Postby The Cadet » Mon Sep 27, 2010 10:57 pm

Hey there, just need some advice. I used to live in South Australia, now I reside in Victoria  . For my employment I need to show a record of my driving history. I have a current Victorian licence. I have paid for a drivers history report to be sent out by Vic Roads, will this have any of my South Australian traffic infringements on it or will I have to contact Transport Sa for the relevant information?.

One would think a national search by the Victorian Police for a criminal record should be able to produce what you require.

Have already passed entrance exam :D. Next stage is lodging application. Need to show driving history. Have a Vic licence, used to have a SA one. Will my drivers history from Vic roads have any of my SA travel infringements ?

Probably not, you'll probably need to apply to Transport SA dept of licencing and registration. I think they're the ones that send out the demerit point thingy. Dont think it costs much though.

Criminal Records checks only show driving convictions, not expiable offences.
Ask the Registrar of Motor Vehicles in SA, Cadet.

Just on this I need to transfer a vehicle from my Dad's name to my name, whilst also transfering another vehicle from sa plates to qld plates for my sister. I was already nominated as a driver on my Dad's car originally and now he is giving it to me I want to do the transfer without paying stamp duty on the value of it. Also can I organise my sisters car for her or does she have to do it now as she is already up in qld with her car and not coming back.

Im no pro but if you were just changing names then you wouldnt incur stamp duty as you are not buying it?? Or thats how I would interprit it, there would be some fee for admin though.
She would have to organise the change of plates I would believe, would also have to go through "regency" as we call it in adelaide. (not sure of the real name, but the transport department looks over it all to make sure it is safe and road worthy).
get on board the thunder train!!!
