ohhh how clever, have you ever been away on an outbacks trip days???

they only one that rates themselves on this forum is you by the sound of it... looking at recent stats, could be some time required in the 2's for you days... not the stand out numbers a man of your considerable ability should expect, but then again the ground is probably starting to look further away then it might have previously.

Leading wicket taker at the table topping ango side not good enough for you bullant, u must have high standards, i wouldve thought an average of 17 at the champs doesnt meet them.
Them stats dont lie mate

As for did i kiss someones ass enough to get an outbacks call up, no i didnt. You would have some serious work to do in that area to get another gig next year.
Now move back to your forum bullant

At least that average is consistent with his town ave. I guess. (I dont know bull by the way, so I'm just looking at numbers)

As for making rep sides, its always been an inside game, so not a true indication of a players ability. Back in the dim dark days when timmy could actually get a B&LCA gig, it was obvious from the chats around the selection table that it was and 'in-crowd' gigs. I know that some very handy players weren't picked for reasons other than ability. From what I can gather these days things have changed on that front though.

When the country champs were in SA I was talking to someone involved and it seemed a lot of the new players were getting in on recommendations from current players, rather than raw performances, and that they found it hard to find city players willing/wanting to play. Just take a look at the three higher profile Jets boys, I would have though Bain would be the obvious choice to be chosen for ACCC. For the Outbacks to have any success I think they have to be very selective about the city players they use, and delve deeper when looking at country players.

Just been on bureau website, they have revised tomorrows temp up to 39 in the city. Be interesting to see if channel 9 can find another degree to add to elizabeths forecast. Be a few nervous clubs awaiting the outcome and wishing their delegates didnt vote in an absurd heat policy

Great win for the cockies today. 6/60 chasing tanundas 190 and they get up thanks to ratcliffe and super gav. A couple of big zacs to gav sealed the deal in the last over

Top of the one day comp Angaston played today against Gawler Central at angaston... Jobby won the tossand had no hesitation in batting first. On a Very slow Angaston outfield the Ango Captain said he'd be happy with 150-160. The Angaston innings started badly with Kurtzy getting out for 4 and scott rathjen not long after for 3. had the home side 2/15... Matthew Doecke and Ben Burgess putting together a nice 50 odd run stand before matthew doecke being caught at point for 25 with the score 3/65 right on the drinks break. Simon Koch came and went for a quick 11 with one six and then Nick Pech and Benny put on the best partnership of the day which was a 70 run stand with Pech being knocked over for 31. While the ango batsmen at one end were getting caught out by the gawler central fielders down the other end Benny was having a little bit more luck... He was finally bowled with 2 over to go for 85 with 3 sixes and 8 fours. Centrals might have felt relief getting Burgess out but one Burgess was replaced by the other and younger brother hit the biggest six of the day up to the club rooms in a little cameo at the end. After Ango's 40 overs they finished 8/199. Gawler centrals started ok, but just batted them selves out of the game by a slow run rate, some nice hitting by Bilney late in their innings put some respectability on the scorecard but the damage had been done and the game was over... Best of the bowlers Brett Woodards 3/16(continues to impress and could be the differnece late in the season) Tim Herrmann 2/17(squeezes the batsmen with tight lines and lengths, more than handy one day bowler) and Brett Burgess 2/23 of his 8(proven performer, having a tough year trying to get over a hamstring but looks to be coming cherry ripe at the right time)

All in All another workman like win by the blue boys..lot of hard work to go this year yet but are sitting nicely.

P.S thank christ im nowhere near sandy creek tonight if Gav was the hero, how does Hartigan bowl the last over when the opposition need 7 to win... Well captained Mark!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am going to throw this up and say that Gilbert Valley are more than outside chance of playing finals cricket in the overall comp. I have just been on my cricket and looked at the final 3 rounds. With only 20 points the difference between the Bulls and Tanunda it certainly no gaurantee that the Magpies are starters for finals. Lets have a look at the last 3 rounds.

GV v Angaston this week whilst Tan v Nuri, lets say both sides lose which still leaves a 20 point gap

then GV V Tan which if Tan win game over they move to the finals but if GV win then the door opens as this will bring them to within 10 points of the magpies and GV face Gawler Centrals in the last round whilst Tanunda come up against Angaston

Big 3 games coming up for the bulls.

In the one day Semi Finals this week:
Ang v GV @ Eudunda
Nuri v Sandy @ Stocky

You would have thought that the person doing the program would have kept the games in close proximaty to each other, Nuri, Tan or Tan, Stock or Tan, Sandy. Obviously he may be looking for a pub crawl home if he gets a game :D

Pub crawl is no good from eudunda anyway, why do they have to be close to each other?
You lads keep wondering why, i know i wont be losing any sleep over it, Eudunda has a great pitch and facilities.
