Grade 1: Lodge 9/163, they were still going
Grade 1: Angle Vale 138 vs Rosies 4/47
Grade 2: Lodge 6/220, still going
Grade 8: TTG 259 d. Rosies 80ish.

Lodge all out 168, Sibbick played an epic, 87 not out. Will be tight tomorrow, 168 is not bad on Greenwith, but SW have a great batting line up.

Other SF looks balanced, will be interesting to see who is not out for Rosies and who they have left. What a match!!!

Oh what might of been if he was given out when he smashed the cover off one on 32

Nice one Alf.

To Jamie's credit, it was a quality innings otherwise.

No mention of the LBW that went against Hooters off Scotty Mac's bowling? That was a crucial part of the innings when they were working our way back into the match after a bad start. Works both ways Oz, I am sure you've played enough cricket to know that.

And we all rolled our eyes before the match when we saw the umpires we had, it was always going to be a lottery with the decisions.

Greewnwith deck hard to score on was it....geez what a suprise

Brahma's B's would have been extremely lucky to make 140 today if the umpires knew caught behinds & LBW's existed in the game of cricket. Let's just say none of our batsmen will be walking tomorrow even if its edged to 1st slip.
You want to talk about umpiring displays, well lets just say Don & Merlin are legends!!!!!!

Im tipping a lot of sportsmanship will be displayed 2morrow.....NOT!!

Why change now??? ;)

Good to see you giving credit to the batsmen on making good knocks, guess you are already filling out your last promise a day early

Must say all this talk about umpires and both the umpires in our game had a fine day 1. All decisions seemed correct, very approachable and had a good understanding for the game, we have Les Harrison and some SACA umpire, hopefully they keep the standard today, that was probably the best day of umpiring of played in.

One of the top 3 umpires IMO, he should be umpiring in the higher grades but its a boys club.

LBW's in this comp are always going to be inconsistent. Playing back from behind the crease to Scotty is just flirting with danger.

Anyway, this cranky old man is over it and what will be, will be. The better side will win and deserve the win whichever way it goes.

And his communication skills and nature would be a massive part of the kudos he receives.

yep was the most pleasing thing about him, plus he seems so passionate about making the correct decisions and imho does this to the best of his ability with no pre concieved ideas/thoughts/reactions etc etc

Our umpires had a solid day in terms of actual umpiring, decisions were good and consistant. It was just the lack of control, but im still very much appreciative of having the two umpires instead of doing it ourselves!

Thats Gold....... give me a break... you guys were flat as ... no chat... bowled too short... How many catches did you put down???? still a day to go so its not over yet.....

Never seen umpiring that bad in all my life and every 1 else has a whinge about umpiring on the forum, so why can't I? Only comment worth giving you credit on is the dropped catches, completely our fault. No, it's definitely not over yet. Just hope the umpires are consistent....... ly ****.
And about the Greenwith deck, toungue in cheek, sarcastic comment. You're the one who said don't take the forum seriously. Good luck in the quest on a D Grade premiership. Or were you playing against us today?

Don't worry about what I'm doing, Its not about me... but if you want to try and make it personal thats up to you. I'm not playing in the game but I was there and I think its poor form to come on here half way through a game and make it sound like the umpires are responsible for you having a big chase today. Salter and Weaving played really well against your spinners (The amount of square fours and sixes tells me they bowled too short) in the middle overs and built a platform to get to that total. Credit where due, thats all.

I was only messing, my form with the bat in that grade this season was ordinarly at best. The cricket gods shined on me in hindsight, not great when you aren't barracking for your own club, especially someone who has kept the club alive for 10 years.
I was looking forward to playing against Jars, Micky B & Sparkesy, didn't happen, I didn't lose any sleep over it and they were confident enough to not include me.

so was I mate :) its not as easy as some people think to go back down the grades, ball doesnt come on to the bat, and the bowling can be horribly inconsistent... still some class around down there with some older blokes who know what theyre doing though!

Rose & Crown A & B grade still nothing set up, our B grade pitch is about 3" under water and surrounding the pitch is mud. 5 umpires have looked and said dangerous and no play but wont call it off because North Pines still want to play
