Cally Eagles by 11 pts over S/C. Good to see a win for them at last.
Players win awards. Teams win games. Clubs win Premierships.

Shayne Mitchell should be knighted for his effort at Callington.
The statue is already being erected at the oval entrance.
Bit like sleeping with the ugly girl at school, no one wanted do the job, but someone had to do it.

All across the countryside you'll hear our name out loud.
Forward Cally's heroes, brave and bold and true.
Strong we stand together, we're the mighty gold and blue

Well pretty close... and yes, being in the room while they sang the song was simply unbelievable, the best feeling, and a lot of tears.
But yeah, good thing we have the song in big letters on the wall haha, a few did need a little prompting!!!

We're United Eagles,
We fly high and proud,
All across the country side,
You'll hear our name out loud.
Forward Cally's heroes,
Bold and brave and true,
Strong we stand together,
We're the Mighty Gold and Blue.

Born in 1995,
From hearts that love the game,
From all across the country side,
The Mighty Eagles came.
Forward Cally's heroes,
Bold and brave and true,
Strong we stand united,
We're the Mighty Gold and Blue.

When we were in a similar position a few years ago I remember our win against Maccy and the feeling was amazing. Great stuff by the lads and it shows that there's light at the end of tunnel. They'll be full of confidence for their trip to gum and we'll have to be on our game.

Well done Eagles! Your scores this week looked like a 'normal' league without the 2 blowouts!

Is this the same Shayne Mitchell that has coached just about every club going around? will he be there next year? as he usually only stays at each club for a year at a time.

What's happening at the Magpies, OTP? Seemed like they had started to make some ground this year, but the last two weeks have been disastrous

Any body Know the result of Meadows V's Gums? was a bit to seedy sunday to get to the Genral to grab the paper.

And yes a bit disapointing for sedan no doubt, even after a win to cally i would put them as a much better team and a stronger club

Unfortunately we've had some injuries and unavailabilities and just don't have the depth to cover those players. Having said that, even with a full squad we wouldn't have got close to Birdwood.

Congrats to United even though on the surface the result was a disaster for us. They fielded a vastly different side to what we had faced before and even with our players that were out we wouldn't have been guaranteed a win. In short, they have caught up rather than us dropping back to where they were at. Perhaps some of the United posters could give us some insight in to their player gains.

We will continue on but we need to respond this week. As I've said before, we are working to a five year plan. It's obvious we still have a long way to go.

I'll be back in SA next Saturday to watch my first game in almost two years and need to know how everyone is going.
Should be a great game Echunga vs Birdwood. But first the Roosters will have be get over Kangarilla.

Well forgot how cold and miserable it is in the hills this time of year. A great day for Birdwood today, wins in all grades. The A grade lived up to expectations. It was very tight untill the third quater when Birdwood got a run on. Echunga never really got back into the game after that. Stewie Moreman's 150th game was a ripper. The young Ruckman for Birdwood Jock McLeay had a great game. Sam Cranna really needs to concentrate on playing footy, he seemed to be easily distracted. The beer grade was wonderfull entertainment. The Birdwood team seems to really have their act together they are playing really good footy.
Altogether a great day. Well worth the journey.

Hearing Mick “Mad Dog” Taylor and Johnny Holmes are in mediation.
Both can't agree and stake claim to recruiting SJ.
Will SJ bypass rookie of the year and win the Golden Whistle on debut?
