Without trying to offend rednandblack I'd be interested if anything was heard from the other end down in Tassie over the weekend?
Talk is of an 18 round minor round, 9 home matches, 9 away matches.

That's what I was afraid of happening if a 10th team came in. If so, that can piss off.

Why, its only 2 less games than now and a much fairer draw.![]()
With the extra weeks we could implement a decent preseason comp too.

spell_check wrote:Yeah, and don't forget that not everyone can afford to go to Tasmania - another game missed. Then, when would the season start with 18 rounds? May? I don't know why it really matters if it is 22 rounds like it used to be; teams shouldn't have to rely on an "equitable draw" just to make the finals or whatever milestone they are after.
Having said all this, I doubt that a 10th team will be added if all anyway, let alone a proper preseason comp.

I can't really see two State matches in a year being played.

What a massive fall Tasmanian footy has when they need to enter a composite team in another state's league. The VFL raped the TFL until it was dead.

It was dead and buried by 2003. Was talking to John Halbert after the state game at Freo Oval and they went up there to host a cocktail party for NTFL officials and no one showed up.
