A D1 club last week lost their ruckman to Angaston for $2500 sign on fee $1500 a game and $2500 in in free booze as well.
What a joke this is becoming. since the salary cap went out it is open season by country clubs as they can now pay what ever they like and strike as many side deals as they can to steal players.
This bloke couldn't even hold down a league spot. His club is not happy to say the least.
This will all come to a head soon and these big spending country clubs are in for a big shock soon rather than later. Mark my words on this one, enough is enough even the SANFL agree with the SAAFL on this one and you know when they are upset things will happen.
Is it any different to SAAFL clubs with money poaching home grown juniors from other SAAFL who can't match the offers? Been happening to us for years!!

Well said mate, an all too familiar situation for some of us. I couldn't count off the top of my head the amount of our ex-juniors playing Div 1 or 2 for coin, too many. Only 1 or 2 playing in the country. Some higher up SAAFL clubs need to stop their bitching, the country clubs only do to them what they themselves do to lower-division SAAFL clubs.
