Sounds like a few Whyalla players are going to the Northern Areas this season. Any players coming over to the SGL (or going the other way)? Is Appleton still looking to play at West Augusta?

Have heard from a few guys who have played in Whyalla and other leagues (SGL, NAFA, YP) that the other leagues are much better quality leagues to play in. That and being offered extra $$$ is always an incentive to move on. Some Whyalla teams may struggle to get B grade sides on the park with the mass exodus of players to other comps.

Used to when I played in the WFL.
Mainly played forward flank/wing but was a pretty agile lad, good skills. Think he'd be 26 or so now.[/quote]

One of the most agile chubby blokes I've seen.

Although I was adamant it wouldn't happen, I'm hearing that Callary is on his way back to Pt. Augusta for this season. Anyone else hearing the same thing?

A handy pickup for you Tigerland but Bob used to say he was slow and lazy dropping off to get the easy ball coming out and not chase his man. Saying all that though If Central got a mob of recruits again they should be good enough to get way with it. (Except against us hopefully). ;)

Thats a bit harsh. Yes, he may seem a bit of a plodder to some but I couldnt agree with the lazy call. I think he is smart enough to get free at the right times and a good decision maker in my opinion. In a strong team why not exploit the opposition? He seems like a genuine lad who probably realised his drinking efficiency was being inhibited by the travel time to Whyalla and he is probably getting this more heavily subsidised at the Bloods!

Wonder what Bobby would have said about your "star" centre half forward Matty Stringer if he coached against Sollies a total of 20 games for a misley return of 6 goals and only twice in the best players (2nd & 5th) great recruit.. Oh he has got a good rats tail which was cool in the 90's

Anyone snapped up my Whyalla bound bud, the classy Chad Bourke yet? Should still be handy for a few bags of goals i'd think. Might have to go for a few weekend trips to catch a game or two I think.

Daniel Stringer back to Whyalla this year, to Centrals I think.

Great pick up, brilliant ruckmen.
