funny how whenever Salisbury north start winning games everyone looks for reason "opened the cheque book" "Stephen dank high performance manager" how bout the fact that they had 50 people at every training working there backsides off during pre season and yes there is some big boys in the team but those boys are the ones that go to the gym 6 days a week so maybe instead of looking for excuses pay credit to the effort and time the boys are putting in to make themselves better/stronger football players.

Don't worry ruffntuff, Salisbury North isn't a target, I reckon the same line gets used on any club that is on fire. ;)

Because apparently there's no such thing as hard work anymore

Ypfl thread has Gaza losing some of their new recruits in harradine and a couple others walking out on the club and requesting a clearance back to Kadina?? Any truth to this? Would Gaza clear them??

It would be a shame for Gaza to lose more players at this stage of the season, and it won't do their chances of staying in Div 1 any favours...

I know this site is based on rumors n speculations... but some facts every now and then wouldn't be a bad thing.
And to add,I heard the boys down at "the nest" (salisbury north) get mad and turn green when we say hurtful things about them. Here is a fact they all have hearts and feelings to. "On the salisbury north band waggon"

This is true of Harridine. He needed to return home to spend time with his family. He's a top bloke, and went about things the right way, and we weren't gonna stand in his way of his request.
But he is the only recruit leaving.

Trev is a good lad. I had a very long chat with him prior to him signing at Gaza and he was looking forward to the opportunity there. I don't think the need to spend time with his family would be quite right for his clearance to go in. If he needed to be with them, he would have looked at going to CYP cougars which are right amongst his family. Although, Kadina is not that far away. He lives and works in Adelaide and was really looking forward to playing at Gaza. Think you will find the harder comp in div 1, lack of wins this season and opportunity to dominate a bit more in YPFL may be the reason for the move.
Well done to Gaza for not standing in his way.

I see all yesterday's results were blowouts... I didn't expect that.

Next week:
Broadview v PHOS Camden - A win this week would give Broadview a two game buffer from the relegation zone, and I believe that at their best, Broadview are too good to be in danger. However, a win to PHOS Camden would really spice things up at the foot of the ladder, and lead to an exciting conclusion to the season. Who knows, maybe the year's first draw is on the cards? My tip is Broadview by 20 points.

Goodwood Saints v Salisbury North - Match of the round. 3rd up against 1st. I guarantee it will be a tough one. The Hawks had a tough first half against Uni, before kicking 14 goals to 4 in the second half. Goodies are always a tough ask at home, so therefore my tip is Salisbury North by 9 points.

Henley v St. Peters OC - Surely Henley and St. Peters wouldn't expect to be where they are at this stage of the season? A win to either would really heighten the mid-table fight for the last two finals spots, and this match should be a pretty hard fought one. My tip is Henley by 23 points.

Gaza v Adelaide University - Gaza would be desperate to chalk up win numero uno this year, and the sooner the better. Uni are in the 3-way logjam for spots 4 and 5, and would be looking to give themselves a little breathing space around the halfway mark of the season. If Gaza's defence can blunt Rusling's influence, it should be a tighter game than most anticipate. However, I don't see them breaking through just yet. Adelaide University by 34 points.

Tea Tree Gully v Rostrevor OC - The other match to watch this week. 4th v 2nd, although Gullies are two games behind the ROCS. Depending on the other results, a win this week would see them establish a good grasp of 4th or 5th spot. But, and this is a big but, I think Rostrevor will be too good on the day. ROCS by 15 points.

Will be an interesting match to watch - I hope someone's got a good clash strip!

Great write up FC2 (see what I did there? ;) ) was also very surprised to see the results from this round - and proves that nothing is a given in footy as those we probably expected to be up there aren't and those we thought might not have such a solid season are sitting pretty.

Cheers Original FC, I'm always happy to be called FC2...

I'm sure nobody would've predicted that both last year's grand finalists would be where they are now. However, Henley are only out of the 5 on percentage. Was last season's premiership a fluke for St. Peters?

Yeah. No way would jordy come back to the club that he has won 3 best and fairest and try and achieve the ultimate.
And no way Solly would play at the club he has signed with for the last 4 years, just had a kid and obviously doesnt want to devote most of his time outside of work at football. Not to mention his close mates play at SN.
Just for the cash.

For a club that has been known for paying large amounts of money in the past but has massively under achieved in the Amateur League, maybe if the players are there for the right reasons and not just for the cash they might actually have some success this year.

Says the bloke from Pt Districts.

Now I know you don't like it when your mob get accused of the same so at the risk of beig called the pot, perhaps lets not speculate as it only turns into unnecessary arguments ;)
