Yep ur probably right

Couldn't imagine holdens getting a huge turnout to anything these days with most people knowing its dead within a year or two

Alot of people I spoke to at my work weren't interested, common line was

'The comp is f**ked next year I'm not wasting my time or spending my money on $7.60 beers'

It is farcical at this time of year. Should have a longer season for the minor premiership and then a 3 week, top 4 finals series with just SANFL clubs.

The last minor round game should be Power vs Crows and the Power and Crows should be drawn against the bottom teams from previous year for the last few minor round games before that.

Let Crows and Port Power contest the minor premiership, but leave them out of the SANFL finals. They couldn't care less anyway.

Is this a sign of things to come?
In the WAFL today minor Premiers Claremont were thrashed by the West Coast Eagles reserves and bundled out of the finals. The Eagles Reserves will now play in the Grand Final next week

how dare a team beat the minor premiers so they miss the grand final! Bloody AFL making then lose.
You all seam to think the crows/power will be highly uncompetitive so I guess you have nothing to worry about.

No, my concern is that they will eventually become too strong.
I never, ever want to see them make finals let alone win one.
I would rather see the SANFL fold than an AFL reserves side win it
And yes the WAFL GF will now become an asterix Grand Final next week with a non legitimate side making it.

East Perth looked like a different side today, Claremont just couldn't match them physically.

I think it's a sign of things to come in the WAFL but the SANFL may be a different case with the reserves sides being filled with top up players.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

From my understanding of the WAFL set up, this year only RECRUITED players swapped to the nominal AFL reserves sides. From next year, non-recruited players, originating from the WAFL and still playing for their original WAFL side will also make the switch.
In other words their dominance will be increased from next year, in the SANFL those reserves sides will be "full strength" from the word go.

.

Suggestive of a side coasting through the home and away and playing "real" footy when it counts.
And we thought they'd only try when it suited them.

Alternatively, Claremont, even though they're my team, have always had a bit of a handbag reputation, and even with their dominance of the last few years perhaps that is still there - lost 2010 GF, won 2011 v 4th side (IIRC), 2012 gave up huge lead against East Freo but scraped over the line, and now this year.

I think everyone is reading far too much into a second hand report of a single game of football.
