I do hope that all the SANFL presidents that voted to bring the Cows and the Smears into the SANFL considered this, I somehow doubt it...

- NEAFL Grand Final between the Sydney and Brisbane reserves. Player line ups, big arse logo, national anthems... Notice anything missing...

Hmmmm . heard a comment on Radio TAB that the conference championship is considered the real GRAND FINAL in QLD & this match is an added extra.

Was also played around lunch time on a Saturday.

VFL GF got around 15,000

WAFL GF got 20,008

Tassie GF about 5,500

Those figures for the WAFL aren't too bad, considering their Grand Finals always have some smaller crowds than the SANFL anyway. Mind you an AFL reserves side got in, so perhaps hard to get an idea of real interest in the WAFL overall as against AFL folk who turned who wouldn't usually.
I'd like to see the crowd figures for 2 unaffiliated WAFL clubs in the Grand Final to get a better idea of the affect of AFL reserves in the WAFL.
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

Probably a reasonable crowd for the WAFL GF, considering the Freo game the night before and the wet and windy weather on the day. (SANFL honchos taking note??)

Certainly would be interesting to see what crowd they could get on a fine day with two of Swans, WP, EF or SF playing. Either low-drawing Claremont and Subi or both had played in the last 9 GF's.

I'll be watching the grand final with a few mates and this will be the last time that I watch any SANFL game for the foreseeable future. After this week, I will have no interest whatsoever in the SANFL. It is a shame it has come to this,

I won't be attending the SANFL from hereon... certainly won't be going to the AFL reserves match.

Besides, it shouldn't be called the SANFL anymore, it is technically AFL-SA now... the SANFL should do the right thing and rename itself and make a distinction between SANFL flags and AFL-SA flags, as its a different competition now.
