You are doing it wrong....done and dusted inside 90 minutes last Sunday
if I was more efficient id have 2014 xmas done and dusted boxing day

I took the easy route: three different French perfumes bought for three different ladies through an on line supplier - all either unobtainable in SA, or over-priced in outlets here. I just have to leave myself a note about which perfume went to which person for future reference...
(I just thought of that need as I was posting this - I will do it now before I forget to.)

All gifts arrived by registered post within 7 days , which was not bad from a US warehouse.
I was confident because I've used them before.

With due care and diligence: ;)
1. They live in their own homes and support themselves! (And they sometimes feed me.)
2. I limit myself to providing the occasional meal out, and two presents a year - birthdays and Christmas.
3. The perfume worked out to just over $50 a head from the source I use - 30ml concentrates or 100ml Eau de Toilette.

$50 for 100ml of normally expensive EDT sounds like you bought a knockoff. What was the brand?

Assured/Homeside - AGAIN

Get an email from Assured today (3 days before the grant ends) saying that my last construction grant application has expired and I have to fill out another one.

This is the third time Ive had to re-apply for things/ send in paperwork multiple times.

How does the $8500k building grant application expire, I didn't even do it 6 months ago! These bastards dictate that my house needs to be built in 12 months and due to their continual farg ups it aint gonna happen.

For those playing at home, I have a slab and am still trying to have my first progress payment paid over by them but they won't pay it because they expeceted me to fork out $30k first even though they know I've paid almost that for my retaining walls and fencing and have bugger all of it left.

I don't even want this ******* house anymore. I hate it.

Hate hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate hate hate :?

No, I buy from a US based company that has branches in NZ and one in Melbourne. I've been to the Melbourne outlet several times over the years.
My part-French wife had always used Joy de Patou and we got it there once we were living in Melbourne. (That was more expensive. )

For friends I don't go quite that far, and I select good, traditional, but older and less famous, brands that have not been fashionable for years and are not linked to current celebrity names. So they are less expensive, and If you ask the bigger Adelaide or Melbourne retailers they tell you they no longer exist.

(Je Reviens by Worth first released 1932, and L'heure Bleue by Guerlain from 1912, for example.)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_perfumes

My own Eau Sauvage apres rasage (Dior) I tend to buy in DJs because it is not much cheaper from the other source.
(But curiously Myer usually have a more hefty price on it than DJs.)

It depends what you think the stuff is really worth when you get past the hype - and I'm careful about sending the wrong message these days.
I did spend more on a colour laser printer for one friend's birthday - she'd been saving for one - and that was a less "personal" item.

Years ago, between marriages, I made the mistake of buying a casual friend, whom I thought knew the limits of the relationship because we had discussed them openly, a rather expensive gift - perfume again but better known. Apparently that gave her a message I didn't intend - that I had fallen in love with her and had therefore changed my mind about the relationship limits we had agreed to, and was going to invite her to move in with me.

Things got difficult when the expected invitation didn't happen over the next few months...

An EDP doesn't necessarily perform better than an EDT anyway.
