Was thinkin the Strahmore (easy to jump on tram down to Bonython) but they don't open til 11.30.....bit of a push as want to get into BDO by 12 to catch Violent Soho.

Any pub suggestions in town to have a beer circa 11am and close to tram?? Other springs to mind is Harry's Bar (old Silks tav).

Squatters Arms across the road from the BDO site this year. No bastard ever goes there anyway so they should be opening at the earliest possible time that they can. Probably get a year's worth of takings in 1 day

That one was packed before Soundwave.

Does Schapelle Corby stand to make any money from the upcoming miniseries on Channel 9? I ******* hope not.

Isn't there a law stating that people can't make money off their crimes? Or does that only pertain to crimes committed on Australian soil?

Seeing as it didn't happen on Australian soil and was never convicted under any australian law. I would say yes she can. And if she couldn't it only last for a few years, so she would in the long run. I still think there is money already waiting for her back home to cover someones ass.

Schapelle and her family won't be getting a cent from the mini series. The mini series is based on a book the Corby's aren't fans of.

That's a relief. The whole Corby clan seems a little ****** in the head to me.

I wonder how much New Idea and Woman's Day will offer for her story though...

I was wondering about him, although the U.S. Government deemed his charge to be invalid, as that specific law didn't exist at the time. However, we all know he was terrorist sympathizer, but to spend 6 years at Gitmo under those conditions was rough.

That's the thing about breaking the law in another country, you have no right to complain when the punishment seems harsh.

Hasn't he already profited from his book. I thought it was only a certain amount of time after that law applied.

I think he got lightly, the Australian Government should of stayed well out of it and not allowed him back in the country.

Just did a little research.

Your correct , originally it was considered 'proceeds of crime' and he wasn't allowed to keep any profits but his lawyers fought the government and won because he wasn't officially charged. Managed to get about $10,000.
