Harmen offered an apprenticeship to stay at Aldinga? Does he not have a job already? Am thinking he would be at least 24 years of age?

Not sure of the accuracy of this, but did hear that Cranston was staying at the Roos for another year.

As for J.Eagleton, pretty sure he's still a Viking and is training as usual.

I hear Peterson-Grey, on the other hand, is undecided whether or not he'll be at the valley next year.
Would be a massive loss if he didn't sign on again.

Johnny has been training with Valleys - he is definitely staying :D but brothers Damian & Mick retiring
As for Peto - rumours probably come from him going overseas soon and he will miss few weeks but those I have spoken to seem sure he will be keen to get back to his footy when he gets home :D
Can confirm a couple of very handy players have returned to Valleys :D :D :D
Heard a rumour that there is potentially another player who has spoken to the club about returning that dont think anyone at Valleys counted on seeing back there also

i doubt this part is true. he is 24 or 25, got a young boy with another kid on the way. currently works in the mining industry, so i assume he makes some decent coin there. wouldn't imagine he's be keen to drop to an apprentice wage any time soon, unless the footy part of his income was $50,000

RFC 2010 wrote:My attempt to stimulate some online conversation regarding the upcoming season.

All is fairly quite on here as to recruiting activities, retirements etc but here is my ladder for the end of the minor round

Reynella - Toss up between HV and the Flies. Flies will be better than last year. HV to stay about the same or even drop off a touch
HV - Quality
Morphett Vale - Always around the mark. Some of the other teams who pushed into and around the top four last year will drop off, leaving Morphies 3rd
MV Park - Will drop down the ladder a touch but still a fair amount of quality all over the ground
Brighton - Still reasonable quality throughout senior squad and will have benefit from last year
Christies - my big improver
Cove - Whisper is that a few quality guys have left. Early should still be able to get something out of the guys who stayed
Edwardstown - know nothing about them, so mid table seems fair
Porties - Will follow similar path to most years. Middle of the table team who will easily beat the lower teams and shark a win or two against a top 6 team but won't do any damage to the top 4
Flaggies - a lot like Porties
Hawks - will continue to improve
Noarlunga - if Christies bolt up the table, the Shoes are my pick to go the other way
Marion - better than last year but still terrible
Lonsdale - only just better than Aldinga. Hard to see them beating anyone higher on the ladder
Aldinga - will battle with Lonsdale for spoon and will succeed

well there it is u mighty Marion RAMS, your great 2014 season ahead is already f#&ked and it aint even started yet

all the volunteers set to bust their balls for the club, all the boys training their gutz out right now at preseason, all the families & friends set to support the mighty rams across this season, all the purchases and hard earned money going into footy gear and merchandise..... every effort u make this year and all the pride you standby is gonna bring you nothing but a terrible year

congrats, just remember this every time when you drive through the gates of your football club (like an electric shock thats zaps you & reminds u what a sh#t wicket your on)

good times ahead... but thanks for paying your fees... we love your money

Yes mates with Gordon but Peto and JB work together as well

But as the saying goes - time will tell

If he does decide to go back to Lofty it would be interesting to know why considering he is meant to also be assistant a grade coach at HV - was it cash, trying to rescue Lofty or didnt get along with Dent? Hope HV look into reasons why someone who has been very involved in our club over last couple of years would leave

Personally I still see him wearing the no 3 HV guernsey this year and if he was after any sort of success in season 2014 HV would seem a better bet than Lofty

First time posting in a while - new look forum - looks good well done developers

Interesting ready comments about Peterson Gray - he seemed so involved at the club last year regularly coming to junior training etc. My lad always enjoyed it when he joined in the drills with his team. Would be disappointed if he decided to give up an assitant coach job for cash but I guess thats what can happen to some senior players. Maybe he needs cash to pay for his trip?

MF & AFC have you got anymore info on the players that have come back to the club? Midfielders, backs, forwards?

As I said in the last post, got no idea. Have enjoyed a complete break from footy, so not in touch with what's been happening.
I've only heard speculation, which I won't post unless I know for sure.

Heard today Despott is also leaving the $hoes, can anyone confirm?
If true, that is a big departure.

Why the mass exodus at the $hoe?
