These are all realistic situations too and don't rely on teams scoring 500 or whatever to make up huge amounts of bonus points.

There will be a heap of bonus points where I play after I smash the bowlers to all parts

All I know is Adelaide Lutheran have never beaten Para Vista As outright, but have once in B-Grade, in round 4, 1997/98.

I've tried looking over previous seasons and Annual Reports.. I cant find a season yet that PV 'A' have lost outright.. but Enfield did also beat their 'B' grade in Round 2 2007-08.

From memory that was the season they fielded 3 sides.. Marc Cossens was opening the bowling when we played them..

Even greater effort considering this time span would have gone as far back as Mark Weinert's playing days in the 60's and 70's

I believe Mid 70's was when PV was first formed.. could be wrong, but i believe they began in div 2 where they stayed for a couple of seasons before moving up to div 1 where they have remained since.. best part of 40 years!

Is it true that one of the captains of a club in this comp time wasted late in the day, happy to finish the day with a win and expecting other results to go his way to make finals?

I heard as a result his team won the game and went from 4th to 5th, misssed the finals by a few runs, then blamed another club for them missing? Is this true?

Stop talking in riddles and name clubs!

I'm confused, im guessing you are talking about NEK but im not sure what happened out there.

All i know is Rose Park won outright to grab a spot in the finals.

I dont know the clubs in this comp really, just know it was the side that was sitting 3rd and they missed finals despite winning which i guess must be NEK.

Then i see the comments flying around on Facebook on Saturday night!

Yes i did hear there were a few comments flying around Sat night, missed all of that.

Must feel for NEK, last year they missed the grand final by one run and this season they are 3rd going into the last round and beat the top team and miss out!

If it's true, i dont understand how a captain could get it so wrong.

Looking over the week 1 scores, it looked a formality that Enfield & Fitzroy would win and Rose Park likely outright,.. this means NEK would've had to target Adel Lutheran who they were 6.17 behind.. so as a captain, sure you realise you need to win the game + make up that 0.17 (17 runs) difference!

1 wicket = 20 runs **** it's not rocket science!

10 wickets = restrict to < 173
9 wickets = restrict to < 153
8 wickets = restrict to < 133
7 wickets = restrict to < 113

Adel Lutheran finished 7/126, so to be fair to NEK, their best possible chance would've been to get them 9 down or bowl them out, which time wouldn't have allowed.
