To draw final conclusions, for sure.

Still - and I'm no expert on mid-season membership trends - it does look as though those figure are struggling a touch, given we're only a fortnight out from the first bounce in anger,

Not according to the SANFL it isn't!!!

You expect bays to increase membership by 40% to match last years numbers in the coming months ???

Not taking into account memberships costs are down 10-20% down on last year.

Yeah, but there's going to be 4000 paying crows supporters going week in week out.....hmm

There remains another 3+ months to buy memberships. And don't underestimate the potential uptake once SANFL football starts being shown on a REAL network.

I also wonder how much income is lost from people downgrading their memberships from season tickets to home match tickets. I know at least 5 people who I go to the footy with who have done that this year

I know which tv station is telecasting SANFL has been a major factor as to whether I buy a membership in the past.

More big picture thinking, the size of a postage stamp hey UK.

We can only imagine if Internet forums had been around in 1964.

"Two new teams? Oh my god, it'll wreak the competition. I hate change, it makes the sky fall in. That's it, no more membership for me, I'm not going!"

I know that members also like to have their membership card/season tickets organised before round 1 otherwise its is seen as a bit of a waste of money,

It also takes club usually a week to get the membership pack out in the post and with the season looming in two weeks.

I seriously doubt we will see a huge increase in membership n the next 3 months.

Time will tell.

I reckon in 64, a player from one of the new teams wouldn't have being earning the same as the whole salary of the other established teams. I don't think it's so much the change more the terms and conditions. They've pissed off the real supporters to appease those that don't attend the sanfl.

i wouldnt have had the slightest problem if the sanfl introduced two new teams to the sanfl this season, i would have welcomed it, bringing the competition to an even 10 teams would have been good, i never liked the bye, just imagine two genuine teams fighting for a flag under the same rules as the rest of the teams. (and getting rid of the stillborn magpies in the process). why do simpletons always assume those against the afl reserves teams were against any change at all??

but the sanfl didnt invite two new teams to our league. they allowed two reserves sides from another competition to use the league as a play thing, to allegedly help them in a competition that has nothing to do anymore with our great league. all for a handfull of cash. shame  they bent over and cried for the afl to see how far they could shove it in, and congratulated them on the result.

not that i expect you to understand beeny, you have shown repeatedly you dont give two **** for the league your beloved team helped shape. and when the afl sides **** of completely to their stand alone reserves comp (which is only a matter of time) ill not be sorry to see them go.
