seriously its only been about 23 years

So you are happy with a tennant free loading?
Fact is that all that land is SANFL owned, the Cows are no longer owned by the SANFL so surely must become paying tennants

Surely the crows would have some clause of not paying rent since they paid for the facility.

So your saying the Crows paid for the facility yet weren't formed until 1990 some 17 years after the facility was opened.

If you had bothered to read the thread from the start you would realise we were talking about the training facility that the crows built.

Hence my post that the crows would have a clause about paying rent since they built the TRAINING FACILITY.

You do realise over the many many years that we have been around, we have generated more money for the SANFL then the crows ever have.

True. You don't think though a proper comparison may be from 1997 or 1991 perhaps?

not really. The work done by the SANFL clubs prior to 1991 is what allowed the crows to be formed.

by making the SANFL as successful as it was. Look at the state of the SANFL these days, if that was happening decades before 1991 the SANFL wouldn't of been in a situation to fund the crows.

Now the licences have been sold, I've devised a cunning plan to (a) generate much more media exposure, (b) get the crowds back, and (c) get rid of the 2 AFL reserves teams. How, you may ask?

My plan is to shift to a Summer Comp! Play at nights, provide Commercial TV with a replacement during the AFL off season and only compete against cricket (which has lost a lot of it's appeal in recent years) and the A League (room for both- different market)

Back to the glory days?

From SANFL website:
"Adelaide will pay $11.326 million while Port Adelaide will pay $6.985 million in grants between 2013 and 2028

In addition, the Heads of Agreement outlines that:
•The AFL have confirmed that the SANFL will continue to manage Game Development in South Australia, and to that end provide the SANFL with annual AFL Game Development Grants over the same period, a figure which would total approximately $29 million with CPI ($1.4 million in 2013); and
•The AFL has committed to continue to provide appropriate annual AFL Talent Development Fees to the SANFL, a figure which would total approximately $16 million at existing levels (average of $1.0 million per year); and
•That the SANFL will continue to be managed by an independent commission

That makes Adelaide's financial worth 1.6 times Port Power. Struggling to work out how they have valued the licences.

Does Port need to pay back the debt taken on by the SANFL to get them out of their financial mess?

Come on TSG you could of added that the swans receive hand outs from the AFL each year to try and attract high profile players. By the way how is that going for you this year.

Call it whatever you want but the SANFL take so much from the AFL clubs and are reluctant to invest any money back into them. Only when Port were on their knees did they get assistance.

Apachebulldog wrote:Fantastic news about time Crows and Power Faaarkkkk O## now lets pi## off their AFL sides who are still loitering in the SANFL.

Good move Power should and if you go belly up in the future you can now get help from the AFL'S bottomless money pit instead of sponging off the SANFL.

The SANFL needs the AFL teams. It has become reliant on their money to maintain the salary cap and prop teams up. Why do you think they've made it so difficult for the AFL to get the licenses back?
