Round 1 not far now exciting times ahead.
Good luck to my old club Angle Vale on there first game in Div 6, but think Rosewater could be all oneway here and will kick an imppressive score to open up the year. Alot of names missing from the owls GF team last year only 7 players from that team so 14 new faces with a few of these boys could not even get a b grade game last year but have got the call up for A grade in Div 6 congrates to those boys who have steped up.

yeah part good call there BP.
there are a couple of guys who got called up, because they been training since December, so rewarding people is a good thing I think.
the a's have changed a hell of a lot but I would say they are a lot younger and more pacey than last years side with still about 4-5 A players to come in.
there's a lot more depth in the club than last year. I mean there is a lot more players that could push for A's playing B's this year.
hope the scoreboard doesn't short circuit today but I think if the boys are competitive that would be good.
new coach, new style, new players can equal a struggle early in the year but who knows, time will tell. big learning curve for the players & club for 2014.

by the way who's coaching the units this year?

Credit where it's due West Croydon were pretty good today. In particular Cooper he killed it in the midfield. Woodcock was very good as was the 2 brothers Francis I think?

Weird game really, Units good early but couldn't convert 8 out of bounds on the full as shoots at goal yep 8! Tough wind West Croydon also missed many chances to really ice the game in the second term where I believe they kicked 8 goals 9 points in 12 minutes off really good footy just before half time.

3rd term Units came again but again couldn't convert.

Game played in really good spirits West Croydon have some top blokes out there and the better side on the day most defiantly won well done Dallas and the lads.

Still some good signs for some of the young lads.

Farmers were really challenged today, up by about 8 only for the Roys to hit the front early in the last, Farmers stood tall and powered home, great effort by the boys in Green and White, "Go The Farmers"..

I'm not one for official or volunteer bashing usually, but I have to say - and can without any qualms - the Fitzroy goal umpire in the A grade was nothing but a blatant f**king cheat!!

An absolute disgrace and embarrassment to what appears an otherwise very well operated club in Fitzroy!

Very good win by the farmers against quality opposition. They'd have to be flag favs now surely.
They look like they've made the jump from div 7 very easy.
