Both Port and the Crows have the same restrictions, 15 top up players each, no top up players to have played state league football for the last 3 years, top up players have to be under the age of 23.

Other things that could be done if this didn't make it more even is remove the exception of a leadership player and increase the salary cap of each SANFL club - hard to do when clubs are financially struggling but you could increase the dollars we get from the new afl reserves clubs to directly go to each clubs salary cap.

The first suggestions would do it though imho.

Agree very much with this. It is bad enough that six clubs let the Power and Crows Reserves into the competition, destroying the integrity of the competition. However, by allowing one club to still retain their SANFL players (or a number of them) and be boosted by having all AFL players available to them made it a farce. The suggestion made re having top up players only and with these having limited, if any, SANFL experience, is how it should have happened.

Cheers

Seriously are we still crying over this. It's funny how a couple of months everyone was going how we wouldn't care about winning. Now it's changed to we are going to be too strong. Grab a tissue wipe the tears away and get on with the season

You are right. Power reserves couldn't care about winning on tonight's effort. Your old magpies guys did though.

I think that Port and West are over the odds and perhaps Norwood despite winning the last two flags are a little under the odds given that they have lost so many players. There have been so many changes to sides that it is anyone's guess at the moment.

Port are now favourites. I now believe that Norwood at $8.00 are over the odds.

That's certainly a pretty plastic market. Port were $8 pre-season, have gone 2-1 and are now $3. They've been 2 pretty brutal wins, sure, but it's still only round 3. And West Adelaide at $51 are way, way over.

Given the way that this market seems to wander all over the place depending on what's happened in the last fortnight, I reckon some enterprising maths nerd could game the system by placing bets on everyone at strategic times, to come home a winner no matter who wins the flag!

I agree entirely.

Norwood are now out to $12. That has to be over the odds given that they are reigning premiers and they could easily have been so far in front on Friday that North would never have caught them. Westies are now out to 100/1. I'm not saying that it is going to happen, but Norwood played off after being 0-4 in 2010
