Round 2 - North v South Post Game

Postby Wedgie » Sat Apr 12, 2014 6:16 pm

South 5.0 10.3 13.5 18.8 116
North 2.0 5.2 11.5 12.10 82

Eddy 6.3 Boyd 3.0
Thiele 3.1

Cross 23 disposals, Thewlis 21.
Shannon 21.

Relentless display from the Panthers today, I thought the scoreboard flattered North as South completely outplayed them for 3.2 quarters.
South are a very well drilled unit and killed us at the stoppages and general play, they made us look like we made the Crows looked against us last week.

South looking the goods, setting up for a huge Integrity Cup in a couple of weeks time.

What was North's problem today, attitude, skill, desire, outclassed or was this just a one off stinker.

South just looked much better.
Looked great at the stoppages and found players a lot more often than North did.
South look very classy.
And a bit of the karma bus, never that disappointing to see South or Central win games against clubs that were traitors to the SANFL.

South crowd today made much more noise than any Crows supporters at Prospect last week.

Big game for North coming up at Richmond on Easter Thursday, North have a lot of short breaks between games but dropping early games can be very damaging in an 18 round comp when 2 of those rounds are just percentage boosters against the Crows.

Well done South! As a paid up member for South I can celebrate and commiserate tonight!
Ironic that the first year I'm a South member is the first year I moved from down South to live at Prospect.

A new coach..a new game plan..a team committed to both.
A South Adelaide team that has resolve- challenged in the third quarter by North the South of yesteryear would have folded like a pack of cards- not this team. The team is fitter clearly ..than previous years, theres been a lot of work done on that and the skill level in the off season.
The pleasing part for me is that our second tier players have taken up the challenge to improve. Players like Brooksby, Veide,Redigolo, and Eddy who were like many others..Lost under the previous regime, are turning into very solid sanfl players.
Bring on the Bays next week. 8)

Yeah early in the first too. We had to play young Barnes at Full Forward. All the working class man jokes came out.

I hear Mike Rann's booking tickets back to SA for the finals.

North's Jekyll and Hyde trend continues.

Fantastic win!!

North came out firing in the 3rd 1/4 ....Kenny must of fired them up!! I was worried as the scored line went back to 6 points near 3/4 time. South quickly got one back near the siren.....12 points up at 3/4 time. The South of old would have buckled under the pressure, Not this side,,,,challenge on!!!! We came out and responded in the last 1/4.....

Our game plan is very well drilled. Gotch has them on the ball with it......pressure, pressure, pressure!!! This caused North to turn over the ball and make errors.

Great to see Eddy step up this year.....looks fit and dangerous.

Great to beat the Roosters at their home ground...and the silence coming from the stands was heaven to my ears. (it was very quiet)

Good to see a few more South supporters out there on Saturday too!!! (with a bit of voice)
Is out of change.....thanks Cambridge Clarrie!!!
