Last week showed that comment is crap. Complete and utter rabble is the best way to describe Glenelg. That's the worst I've seen any team play in any league. They embarrassed themselves today. Zero effort, zero skills and zero game plan. The first of many 100 point losses for them this season.

Can it please be noted that it's not just the so called "whingers" nudging off actual match talk to this point?

Why is that? its reality to many people, crowds and interest in the comp is down from last year.

To be honest, didn't expect to get to get thumped but it really showed how bad we are. Skills and fitness not even close to the power reserves. The second and third quarters where more reflective of the difference in talent, the first quarter and the last more reflective of how bad we are. Thought they looked pretty good even though they didn't get the result against Norwood. It will be closer against other teams for sure but don't think this will be the last thrashing they will hand out, good luck to the other seven clubs in not letting them win a flag from the allowances they have. Clearly if they had the same as the cows, we wouldn't be having results like this. Shame SANFL shame.

The margin in no way reflects what Port will do to teams this year just because of how bad Glenelg were.

bear in mind its the other way with the crowettes

Well that just sums up what a farce the comp has become.
8 clubs with one set of rules
1 club with another set
And Port with a different set than the others

You think a comp where, due to the rules 1 side will get smashed every week but another side that has a different set of rules could end up winning by 100 points every week, isn't a farce.

I can't think of any other sporting comp anywhere where all the teams playing in it don't play by the same rules.

Still, you seem comfortable with that

No. Get rid of Power and Crows reserves and have an 8 team competition, with all clubs on a level playing field, like it should be.

I'm not totally sure, but that was almost certainly Glenelg's least experienced team (in terms of League games played for Glenelg) since some stage in 1921.

Great debut win by Port Reserves
The worrying stat for PR was this however :
GL 28 tackles
PA 27 tackles

Spell Check, Ecky
The 152 point debut win would have to be a record for a debut win in the SANFL ?

Norwoods debut win in the comp I reckon was 1 goal to 0 in 1878
Norwood was an unpopular team in that season , having taken over several ex Woodville Players , other Adelaide players, and by recruiting heavily from Melbourne clubs
Could history be repeating with Port Reserves being topped up in a similar way 136 years later

It's hard to win a tackle count when you have the ball for 80% of the game.
