Several teams stepped up big time in the first round of head to head matches with Shark Week, eddieslittleindians, Killer Wombats, Big Als Balls, Hips Don't Lie and Spud Factory all off to a flyer. eddieslittleindians had a ripper first up and he has topped three Hogg leagues with his 2443 as topped Division II, Hogg Elite and Hogg Champions. He'll be hard to stop in this league in 2014.

The flop of the week was the leading points scorer of the league Jims TigerRoos. Jimbo still leads the way in points scoring so far in this league but the wheels well and truly fell off this week as 2150 saw him unexpectedly drop his opener against red cans. At the lower end of the scoring scale last placed cobras managed to find an extra 200 points this week but he needs to find another 200 to survive the drop and the snakes were well beaten by Shark Week. Moneybrawl also failed to top 2000 and he was mashed by the Spud Factory.

Came in here to check out the league and I had to spray room refreshener about the place because several coaches in this league stunk up the joint. Several competent coaches have yet to fire a shot this season and even some blokes who racked up good scores last week couldn't get near it round two.

Teams that managed to score over 2100 really took advantage in the lower scoring levels with Shark Week, Spud Factory and Hips Don't Lie leading the way in remaining unbeaten and claiming some vital percentage. Last year percentage was crucial in deciding what teams went down to Divvy III. cobras looks a lock but the ability to score well in a loss might just save your arse this season.

Good to see the Denver Crows knock off the Brown Boys. Almost like the Nuggets knocking of Golden state

You are heading for back to back wins Rhino. I'll be lucky to get to 1800 thanks to Xavier Ellis and a bunch of other duds.

Spud Factory and red cans are the only two unbeaten teams in Hogg Divison II after three rounds after they won crucial matchups against fellow unbeaten sides. The Spud Factory looks anything but as they are in an apeeling position atop the ladder..sweet. Many in Australia would suggest red cans don't go down well at all and Kick'n'Backs efforts in the Hogg this season support this theory as they outlasted Hippys with a comfortable 116 point victory.

The Uncles went Shark fishing on the weekend and got a prize catch to end On Song's unbeaten start to the season. The much maligned Denver Crows were mile high as they cut the budget for Moneybrawl who is currently mired in the relegation zone with another former power, Delicious. The cobras remain stone motherless last but managed to get a good score for once and this provides them with some hope of avoiding the drop again, especially as 14th ranked Backyarders are stinking up the place.

In a league where only two teams are to be promoted, Jims TigerRoos and eddieslittleindians have put their hands up coming into the bye period by sneaking ahead of the pack. Both sides scored almost the same score this week with Jims TigerRoos doing really well to outscore the indians over the course of the season so far.

Behind the leaders there is a massive logjam of teams on three wins, making this league the closest of all of the divisions in the Hogg. Hips Don't Lie jumped to the head of the queue when they absolutely smashed the Backyarders by nearly 700 points in what could be an invaluable percentage booster as the season goes in.

Could it be that the cobras are about to contend? The cobras have one of the worst win loss records in the Hogg for returning coaches and at 2-3 with back to back wins and scoring better this is the best season for the snakes in their Hogg career. Next thing you know Dale will actually get out of the relegation zone! Yeah...nah.

Earlier in the season Shark Week looked one of the teams to beat but they went fishing for a few weeks. Now they are clearly On Song with a vengeance as they took the biggest scalp in Division II, eddieslittleindians in a high scoring encounter. This league is so even that eddie's defeat saw the indians tumble all the way down to seventh on the ladder.

Last season Cub's FOOTYLEDGENS had a string of narrow losses and was unfairly involved in a relegation dogfight. This year he's not playing as well but is unfairly in fourth place on the ladder as his mediocre 1386 was enough to smash the struggling Backyarders by over 500 points in a massive percentage booster for the LEDGENS. JimsTigerRoos continued on with their solid season accounting for a Toolman combination that is struggling to string wins together this year. Hips Don't Lie racked up a good score during a scoring this week and moved to second as they cleaned up Browny.

red cans and Some Cant returned to form but the same can't be said for Denver Crows who slipped out of the eight after losing to the Cants. destiny's uncles claimed an important win over Spud Factory keeping them in touch with the top eight. Moneybrawl and Delicious are two teams that are far too good to be involved in a relegation scrap but that is what is on the cards for them both this season with Moneybrawl still in the bottom four despite enjoying a victory over their rival with the highest score in the league this weekend.

In the other match the Killer Wombats got Big Als Balls with the latter combination in danger of slipping into the relegation zone as he doesn't appear to be scoring all that well. A win over the FOOTYLEDGENS earlier in the season is keeping him safe now. cobras little run ended at the hands of red cans and it will be hard to see him avoiding the drop with better sides inside and just outside the relegation zone.

A few weeks ago Division II was looking like a very tight run race but during the bye period so far three teams have emerged as stand out contenders for promotion to Division I with one to be unlucky to stay down another year. Jims TigerRoos has had a history of high scoring but unlike past seasons this year the TigerRoos are actually winning matches. Hips Don't Lie has emerged from the middle of the pack from last year to be a genuine premiership contender and a big scalp for anyone who can claim him in this division. The third and by no means least member of the powerful trio are eddieslittleindians who have followed up last year's strong debut with an equally punishing season.

Several other teams have put their hands up with Shark Week possibly filling the final top four spot but I'd have them a bit behind the top three even though the Sharkeys recently claimed the indians' scalp. Spare a thought for Killer Wombats who got rolled with a score of 2157 during a bye week, man that is stiff. destiny's uncles got the chocolates and this win keeps the Wombats at bay. Meanwhile, last years hard luck story FOOTYLEDGENS is contuining to score bugger all yet keep winning. This week Cub saluted with a sub par 1859, the draw has been very kind to the LEDGENS over the bye period.

Moneybrawl went from the Penthouse to the Outhouse (with a Penthouse in the Outhouse?) as he crashed to 1675 to get flogged by a rampant Hips Don't Lie. Moneybrawl are somehow in the bottom four even though they have scored over 500 more points than Big Als Balls since the season started. It remains to be seen if Big Als Big Balls avoid the drop but I reckon Moneybrawl will. Not so Browns Boys and Backyarders who will be battling it out for the wooden spoon. The cobras have improved but not by enough to overhaul two more teams to avoid relegation.

The third and final bye week has thrown up a sensational upset result in Hogg Division II. Brownys Boys had spent the first seven weeks racking up defeats and on paper looked set to add another to the collection as they faced powerful top eight opposition in Shark Week. But Browny didn't read the script (and neither did On Song) and the Boys romped home convincing 448 point victors. This loss is a disaster for Sharky as it might cost them the double chance in the finals.

Another struggling side managed to get on the board this week as well. The cobras beat wooden spoon favourites Backyarders in a low standard match. I can't see cobras surviving the drop but for now they are safely outside of the bottom four. cobras' win was bad news for Big All whose balls dropped into the top four and I know I used that one last week but come on....who can resist a good old Bollocks joke?

At the pointy end of the ladder Jimbo, Hips and eddie again are looking sharp but red cans were downed which enabled FOOTYLEDGENS to consolidate their place in the top four. destiny's uncles had a good win by knocking the red cans out of the top four and sneaking ahead of Shark Week. Meanwhile, Spud Factory couldn't keep up with the Killer Wombats so the Wombats remain very much in the hunt for a finals place as the Factory couldn't ship them off.

Delicious' chances are starting to look tasty but Aerie must be on strike as it's down Toolman this year as Tooly can't seem to rack up the wins like they used to be able to. Moneybrawl are struggling for consistency but surely Doggy gets out of the Doghouse and survives the drop. At this stage my pre-season premiership prediction of eddieslittleindians looks like its on the money but you couldn't discout Hips Don't Lie or Jims TigerRoos. As for the spoon Backyarders is firming by the week for that gong.

Hang on, I've forgotten some cant!

Valleys has thrown the toys out of the cot but with good reason as he had the second highest score (2424) in the league but was trumped by Some Can't who carded 2437 to triumph in a high quality match by 13 points. It could be worse for Delicious as well because he might actually have the second highest score in the entire Hogg and got rolled. That would be a first but I know how he feels after I got done with the third highest score in the Hogg last year.

Scores were well up this week in Division II with Denver Crows, Jims TigerRoos and eddieslittleindians (yawn) all topping 2300 points. The cobras pulled a surprise with a second straight win that could save him from relegation as Brown Boys' winning run was halted at one LOL. The Killer wombats pounced on a spot in the top eight and Big Al got out of the bottom four after racking up a massive 1976 (sorry Valleys) but it was bad news for a woefully out of form Toolman.

Not sure if my fantasy season is like Richmond or Carlton but everything is going wrong. I have had more subs than the Japs.
For every one I miss I am closer to a hole in one.
