I didnt see that coming, I thought you were taking the piss a few weeks ago when you said Essendon were average and are probably not top 8 material.
How much did last weekends effort have to do with tonight, they looked flat and out on their feet early in the second quarter. Thompson mentioned during the week that the 33 degree conditions in Perth plus 8 players with a virus took a bit out of them. There was talk on SEN thursday that 6 of those players still hadnt trained this week and were still suffering with gastro

Yes true, several of the players have had bad bouts of gastro for a week and didnt train this week but thats not an excuse. If players are not fit dont pick them, plenty of guys in the two's that are fit. Bomber was simply outcoached tonight, Richardson made it a scrappy affair and Bomber couldnt find a way to break the flood, had no plan B and sat on his hands all night. The players skills were apalling and I reckon half their goals came from turnovers inside our back half. Also helps having a forward target, St Nick showed how much of champion he is, never stopped running and had a hand in most of their goals. Saints worked harded and did the hard stuff so much better.
We are a rabble ATM, get on the Pies by plenty ANZAC day

I said the same last night when the Saints beat Essendon. St.Kilda last week were absolute trash as bad a performance I have seen this year and then they beat the Bombers...

GWS are very up and down, they're terrible today. Faults of a young team I suppose, consistency is an issue but once they get that in check they'll be a really good side.

I think what we are seeing is the top 2 are miles ahead of the rest and the bottom 2 are miles worst but then the other 14 sides are all capable on their day of beating each other. Going to be a pretty tight race this year, reckon there might only be 1-2 games seperating a whole bunch. Makes it interesting atleast. Wish the same could be said of the style of football, this year has been one of the worst in memory, over half the games each week are borefests and there would of been lucky to be 2-3 of what I consider top shelf footy games this year.
I think a lot is to do with talent being spread across too many sides and we are now seeing too many duds getting a game, coaches are partly to blame as well for the negative style being played

Agreed, some of the passages of play in the games I've watched this season have been very scrappy and the skill level has been average, capping the interchance has also added to this IMO, players are on the field for longer now because they can't just go off the ground for multiple quick spells like they have in the past so they're fatiguing faster during a game than they have in the past therefore the skill level, ball movement and the game in general hasn't been as good a spectacle as we know it can be.

The commentators were almost unashamedly barracking for the Bulldogs to get over Carlton this afternoon.
Very funny.

Yep, Dwayne Russell was the main culprit. He had Dunstall, Frawley & Healy (I think) beside him in the box.
Wasn't offensive, just made me laugh.

I just heard that apparently Chris Judd has retired, effective immediately.

If true, it's not the way someone of his ilk deserves to go out.

Neither.

I have always had a soft spot for him, as he is one of the greats of this generation.

However, I am only going by second-hand information, so I also hope I'm wrong for the reasons mentioned in my previous post.

The internet article that supposedly 'revealed' this has now been removed, so it must be a bogus story. Sorry guys.
