After watching the crows v giants today, I think the side is still committing too many turnovers and a better team would have punish them more than the giants could. Happy with the win but not booking any September final flights yet, especially as South may be still alive in September this year.

Great game today. Slow start once again, which we will have to fix against the better teams, but great fight back. Forward line is looking really good now with Jenkins jpod and lynch down there. I reckon give tex another week in the twos and he should be right to go after the bye.

Sloane was incredible in the last term, willed himself to every contest and made a couple of spoils in the last qtr that not many others would have got to.

Out of the eight just on percentage now, and hopefully a big win against Melbourne next week will have us sitting in the eight

Need to be sitting in the 8 after round 23 not just after next week.
The Crows were always to win 4 in a row against those scrubber sides, cant see them getting near a decent side on todays performance.
Reckon there is maybe 7-8 wins tops from your remaining 15 games which might sneak you into the 8.
Cant see Tex being the saviour everyone thinks, remember you were 2-4 before he got injured last year. You seem to have a fairly even spread of goal kickers ATM but the majority of your attacks will revolve around him when he comes back and this can often lead to lower scores, also probably ends Jenkins spot just as he looks to have become a good player

We pushed port geelong and Sydney before falling away badly. I don't think we are that far away tbh. Certainly not top 4 material but I think we should be disappointed if we don't make the eight

lets be serious, today's game was a game between 2 bottom 8 sides. They were even that's why it was entertaining.

Life's full of disappointments...Crows will only make up the numbers if they do make the 8. Can't see them beating a good side this year.

Surely Pods goes before Jenkins when Walker is back?

Jenkins has more up side and can play 2nd ruck and Lynch is more of a lead up mid size forward who works hard.

Actually surprising how many Crows fans at the time were down and depressed and thought it was unlikely!

can they play all four of them?

im not sure they can, but I think you are right, pods would be the one to miss out. He has been in decent form the last couple of weeks though. Eases the pressure on Tex to come back. I dont think he will until after the bye, no way will they risk him this week against melbourne, with the bye after that.

Jenkins has been the different in our forward line imo, he has been playing really well and therefore is taking the best defender, which leaves pods to be the second target and has allowed him off the leash a bit more. Jenkins should only get better when tex comes back. If only he could kick straight! (although having said that he did kick a gun goal from the boundary)

Lynch played a great game on the weekend, he is that link man high half forward that we really need, I think people underestimated how big a loss he was at the start of the year.

So the next four games for the crows

Melbourne Home
Bye
Collingwood Home
Carlton MCG
Gold Coast Home

four very winnable games there, and I think we would be disappointed if we didnt win at least 3 of them, and realistically, if we want to play finals we should win all of those games.

That would have them at 6 and 4 or 7-3 after 10 games, and well inside the eight.

Definitely some danger games in that lot though. Should beat melbourne easily but Collingwood always travel well, Carlton are certainly playing a bit better than earlier in the year, and Gold Coast are no pushover anymore. Interesting month that could set our season up, as the draw gets tougher after that, with games against freo, north, and port in the month after that

Are you counting the Bye as your winable game? ;)

Collingwood obviously the toughest, but Carlton wont be easy by any means, and the Suns are hardly a push over however being home tips the scales in Crows balance I think

im absolutely certain we wont lose that week :D

and yeah it isnt a pushover draw like the last 4 weeks, but it will be a good test of where the crows are at, if we dont win 3 or 4 we probably dont deserve to make the eight. or at least it will mean we will have to take a major scalp or two in the run home
