Talk on the national game

Caught the 2nd half. Port ran the game out very hard. Pressured the Cats and made them look 2nd rate. Wingard one of the best to watch in the comp.

I'm far from a Power fan, but didn't mind seeing them win for a mate of mine (port member) who passed away unexpectedly during the week. He would have enjoyed it..

Great to smash $hitmond despite not getting out of third gear.
Always good to beat that rabble, fantastic games for Sammy and Burgoyne in their 250th.
Cant believe people had the Tigers in the 8, rubbish coach and a side full of list cloggers and rejects from other clubs.
Port must be pissing themselves laughing watching Chaplin run around burning the ball.

Worth that 450k they forked out to get him. When Port decided not to match that offer you would have thought at the time it was a mistake but christ someone down there must have some idea of what they are doing because now it looks like a master stroke.

yep reprimand

1 match ban but due to good record it came back to a reprimand
Disgraceful that it was even cited, great hit.

Wow, I really am confused by footy these days and what is and isn't acceptable.

OK maybe he picked him off, but there was no head contact, it was just a bump - Might teach Dangerfield to pay more attention.

Well if Douglas got done for picking off a bloke the week before, then the same should apply here. Doesn't matter that he got up off the turf or not...

Douglas hit the player in the head and concussed him, Gia winded Dangerfield, no head contact. Would have thought that mattered.

Im with JK- Cant believe he even got sighted for that. Yeah Dangerfield was unaware, and Gia got him in the sweet spot, but worth a report- seriously??

the new tactic for players is to fake injuries after a bump - and im not talking about the d grade Kane Cornes style

even Dangerfield said there was nothing in it and its part of the game

you obviously werent watching the game. dangerfield did not fake that. he was really hurting afterwards, but he is probably the toughest player ever to pull on a crows guernsey, including roo.

Yeah no question he was hurt, but that's footy. If Gia had made contact with the head then no worries, throw a holiday at him, but it's just a stock standard bump.

dont get me wrong, i agree. they should either ban the bump entirely, or relax the rules to allow accidental head contact. Asking these players to walk a tightrope where they can bump as long as they dont hurt the bloke or whatever is just ridiculous.

It seems like they are trying to police the bump out of the game, but dont have the balls to outright ban it, or, do the more sensible option and allow bumps including the occasional accidental head contact, but outlaw the outright shirtfronts etc.

no I saw the bump - but im saying from now on players can fake head injuries and then the opponent will receive a harsher penalty
