Its true that previous governments have saved for this big purchase.

I just hope this government doesnt make the dumb decision to buy these lemons!

A single engined fighter is a serious worry, but i'd rather take that than one made in China.

quite right heater - they all say it. but any credibility that Abbott had, has now completely disappeared after all we heard in Question Time over the past term of govt was about the Gillard - carbon tax backflip

Its a pretty huge backflip. Worse than a carbon tax imo, because that was just an interim measure on the way to an ETS. And there were are environmental reasons for doing it too. I digress, but you are right, all oppositions think they can magically balance the budget until they actually have to govern.

Abbott seems like the sort of guy that still thinks he is in opposition. Every second word out of his mouth is still about partisan politics, instead of just getting on with the job of governing.

Not sure i like what Joe Hockey has been saying lately, particularly by the fact that i might have to work until i am 70, but I also respect that he at least seems to be the one that has set about trying to shape the agenda rather than it being all about just trying to hark back to labor all the time.

It is perhaps a bit similar to Paul Keating's "L. A. W... LAW!" promised tax cuts during the 1980s...
Political cynicism on both sides is moving me back towards my old default, "Don't vote it only encourages them." ;)

I sometimes wonder whether there should be no career politicians, but they should be limited to a maximum of two terms.

Stick the paid parental leave - how can he say that to can it would be a broken election promise when a tax "levy" is not? The minor parties need to swap it for the carbon tax.
Don't touch pensions and especially armed services entitlements when these ar$eholes are the ones that send them off to war
No increase in the GST - make the State Govts "cut the cloth"
No change to the NDIS - if I have to pay an extra 0.5% I will. It is too important. More important than paid parental leave
Compulsory performance reviews for university lecturers. My daughter had exams and the lecturer went on holidays. (Probably in Canberra marching against something). Most lectures are done online now.
National Service for 19 - 20 year olds. (That'll sort Gen Y+ out plus I didn't want you blokes thinking I'd gone soft)

he has been just as bad - continually telling everyone that labor started rolling out the NBN without a cost-benefit analysis...

AND THEN he goes and rolls out his multi-technology-mix (aka malcolm turnbull's mess) without even waiting for the cost benefit analysis he himself commissioned!!!!

i honestly thought it was better than that. it is ridiculous.

Dont evern get my started on christopher pine the smug cnt.

Joe Hockey is the only one that I have been impressed with. Dont agree with his talk about the pension etc, but at least he has been impressive when he has spoken
