not a bad team there!

wanganeen retired in 2006, not really sure he would make a 2000s only team of the century.

glass would have to be around the mark, but other than that i cant really fault the rest of the team.

as much as he is a dickhead, i think milne would also have to be around the mark, as the best small forward of the era, over 500 goals.

off the top of my head, others in consideration, matthew lloyd, luke hodge, aaron sandilands, scott pendlebury, simon goodwin, glenn archer

(originally thought paul kelly but he retired in 2002),

Another one that would get more accolades if he lived in Victoria. Not exactly underrated or whatever but compare him to james hird for instance, similar sort of player but better in almost every way.

i know i'm a little bit bias but i reckon goodes is better then Hird (just)... Goodes would have to be one of the most versitile footballers ever... Can play every position on the field..

2× AFL Premiership (2005, 2012)
2× Brownlow Medal (2003, 2006)
3× Bob Skilton Medal (2003, 2006, 2011)
4× All Australian (2003, 2006, 2009, 2011)
Sydney leading goalkicker 2009-11
Ron Evans Medal 1999
Indigenous Team of the Century

Goodes is better than Hird.

My best 5;

Ablett Snr.
Carey
Jnr
Williams
D.Jarman (Dunstall says he's the best he's played with and in that side that's good enough for me)

I agree with 21 of these , but Brown has Tredrea covered in all areas without a doubt.

Both probably the most versatile players in the last 10 years. But pav was only ever a pinch hitter on ball. And he couldn't ruck either.

Probably should have squeezed Kerr onto the bench somehow, too.

Personally, if I had a choice between Hird and Goodes, I would definitely select Hird.

IMO Tredrea isnt anywhere near Pavlich. Infact you could pick a 2nd 22 and a 3rd and a 4th and Tredrea still wouldnt be in there.

I know goal kicking isnt the be-all and end all as to what makes you a great forward, but here is a list of goal kickers who mainly played in the 2000s

I left Carey and Lynch in there as they played until 2004, but I dont think they would be considered in a team of the 2000s.

And looking at the pure stats, days may have a point. Neitz, Fevola, Hall are ones that we havent mentioned that really should be.

Tredrea way way down on the list. And the fact that Pav has kicked more goals than him is even more interesting, given Pav played his first few seasons in the backline, and has had significant stints in the midfield too.

Wouldnt make a team of the 2000s, but I was also surprised at how many goals Bradshaw had kicked

dedja can't see North of Anzac Highway so take his opinion with a grain of salt.

Tredrea better the Reiwoldt, Pavlich, Brown? Splitting hairs to be honest. Tredrea, Brown and Reiwoldt have all at the peak of their careers been the go to man in the team who was at or near the top of the table. That's the mark of a truly great CHF IMO, one who is playing in one of the very best sides and although Pavlich is now in a team at the top of the table ( 2013 anyway ) he is simply a brilliant player and leader.

You'd be foolish to try and split the 4 of them or rank them in order.
