Goolwa/Pt Elliot by 1 pt over Strathalbyn at Strathalbyn is a massive win for the Magpies who would not have won there in many a year..

Looks like their straight kicking did the trick : 13-4 to 11-15.

Wide open comp with 8th and 9th beating 1st and 4th.

This weeks upsets continued tonight with myponga beating the creek 12 goals to 9. Not many would have picked the young victor boys to get over willunga, great effort. Unfortunately strath couldn't get up for the big duffs 350th game some terrible kicking at goal & giving goolwa 6 free kick goals didn't help. Congrats to goolwas Trav Griffen playing in his 200th game a good hard honest backman who has stuck with a struggling goolwa team over a long period of time.
Can't speak for other comps but the points system is clearly working in our comp with all teams having to be on there game to get a win each week.

Wouldn't have thought Myponga/Sellicks an upset over the Creek. With the Creeks having 3 big outs and a lack of depth to replace those guys, certainly wasnt a surprise to see them go down. Will struggle to make top 3 with 4th / 5th more likely in a very tough and even comp this year.

We had quite a few missing - 5 or 6 from our best 21 but that's footy. We also had 2 players double up from previous games due to a late withdrawal. Plenty to like from the creek. We outplayed you in the first half but you guys probably should have run over top of us in the 2nd half. Was a cracking night for footy under lights at the creek.

No wonder Yank are getting smashed each week on the field when the players are punching on, off the field!
One of the best 3 players in the club, association representative and a young leader.
It's bad enough he has a reputation for dirty tactics on the field without picking fights with team mates at club functions throwing several punches at own team mates
Talented football needs the club to take a stance and pull him back into line!

What a mess the GSFL Sporting Pulse website is at the moment!

EDIT - issue now appears to have been rectified.

Not sure if you'll get much out of Luvsfooty! Apparently he has gone too!?
Maybe rolling the top side wasn't enough?

From what I've heard the reasons for Smallys sacking seem fairly harsh & fixable. They've got a good list, just beat the premiership favorites & looked to be moving in the right direction. With decisions like this there's always a fallout of some degree. I hope they don't loose too many good people from their club....

Its always dissapointing when a club sacks a coach (if indeed this is what happened)
Unless Coach does something to warrant a sacking, i find it hard to understand why any club would sack a coach this early into a season
If it's just Team performance related, perhaps players also should be looked at.
Coach always seems to take brunt, and players are let off

Yes the mighty demons went down to victor on the weekend but we did have basically a b grade side on the park due to injuries and the umpires were against us all day! Very unfair but you get targetted like that when you're the greatest side of the decade

Yankalilla started well against Mt Compass last week but looked very tired after qtr time. No real surprise tho when you see their warm up. 30m sprints and push ups right before they run out.

Bad look for the GSFL, langhorne creek and Norwood today with Josh Vick hospitalized in a behind the play incident with Ben Warren. With the league president there you'd think this will get quite serious. Facing 4-5 game suspension minimum. Hope josh is alright. Never good to see ambulances at local footy
