training has little to nothing to do with it..your players are just better across the board and many could play in higher grades and have previously..its that simple..its division 7..there are 9 teams only..5 of your opposing teams are C grades, wingfield is a basket case and north pines are only slightly better atm..HDFC the only genuine A grade team as a rival..if you dont win the flag its a massive choke..imo..

1st v 2nd
Smithfield 38.30-258 - Houghton Districts 3.3-21

i rest my case..incredible winning margin tbh..

1st Smithfield - 2nd North Pines??

Wow, that is an enormous margin.. i was thinking Houghton may be able to keep the score line reasonable against Smithfield. . Did Houghton have a few out or just not mentally switched on for the game? Certainly makes our 22 goal loss seem a little less horrendous.

For Modbury its a week to week thing as to how our side will shape up, lost 5 or 6 to the B's in the last couple of weeks which tested our depth. something like 12 changes from the side to beat North Pines to the side that got walloped by Smithfield. Looking forward to playing Shocs this week.

Sometimes nothing goes right Sass. It's a lesson for many of the lads - football is played in two directions.

Our use of the ball was the best we played all year, instead of using our forwards to do all the work it left our onballers open and there the ones that done most of the scoring for us, was a great first quarter but after that we had to dig deap

I know those days only too well.. had one against SMOSH two weeks back where we were made to look very second rate.

Not overly surprised to see North Pines get a big win, i rated them very highly a few weeks back adn think they could be the big movers in the later stages of the season, will just depend on injuries as they didnt seem to have huge amounts of depth in their B grade side.

Was 14 points in it at 1/4 time the end result may seem like we didn't have to dig deep but after 1/4 time we had to and that's why we kicked 30+ goals after that!
