Although Port Power Reserves totally ran over South in the second half, South supporters should not give up hope of a premiership this season. If Port adopt the same policy as in previous seasons re not allowing players to play in SANFL finals, then it will be a vastly different Port side that runs out onto the field in September. Will be interesting to see if that happens or if they allow all players to play this year. Of course, this may be slightly tempered if Port Power's season goes longer than their Reserves. Pity the SANFL changed our season to finish before that of the AwFuL this year.

Which is no different to the Crows having Ian Callinan and Paul Marschall on their books, not to mention the fact that two of the best three top up players for Port were playing country footy last year.

In regards to this matter, all players have to be seen by a SANFL doctor. So if they aren't playing because of injury then you can blame the SANFL doc.

Moore given a week for his tackle on Cross. Only his good record prevented it from being 2 weeks

You must all remember that apart from South and Centrals supporters your club voted for this and if you have a problem instead of venting your anger on this site go back to your clubs and aim your frustrations towards them. Most Port supporters would rather see the team be competitive and mid table as we have been in the past than be full of AFL players as it is now, but once again you voted for this and we were told at the meetings last year that if the Magpies did not vote this in the SANFL clubs were going to revoke our license anyway and we would be an AFL reserves team in 2015 if we like it or not. Our top up players are not that much better than everyone else if you look at them individually, Haren, sawford, Young had played about 10 games between them before this year, Bruggerman, Krakoure, Biemans were playing country footy, Johansen hasn't played this year and is only 17, Butcher is average Gordon and Hawkins are also just kids, Raikawasa has been playing reserves Sharad is injured the only experienced players we have are Summerton and Slattery, Summo is the only real quality on this list but as a group they are all playing great footy. When injuies come we will come back to the field and I still feel the Eagles are going to be hard to beat in the finals.

So WHAT IF the eagles get as many injuries?

Not smoking anything, just going by the official media statement from the SANFL.

Competition commitment
• Port Adelaide Magpies to commit to ‘playing to the line’.
o Will not rest players and take up elective surgery options.
o SANFL doctor to provide 2nd opinion on surgeries before end of season.

Absolute sickening tackle on Cross in the first few seconds of the game.

Spear tackled Cross to the ground head first then picked him up again and speared him down to the ground again.

Lucky to get one game as the tackle could of caused serious damage.

Cross was pretty out of it and very wobbly on his feet after but to his credit played a fantastic game and was BOG for us.
Is out of change.....thanks Cambridge Clarrie!!!

1 match for that is an absolute joke. It was a definite spear tackle and the wreckless nature of it could have caused a very serious injury. Ironically if that had happened in the AFL they have been talking about it all week and he would have got 4-6 in my opinion. The fact that the umpires failed to even pay a free kick, particularly as Cross was dealt with again while lying stunned on the ground is again a sad indictment on the standard of SANFL umpiring at the moment,

Full credit to them.

I got that impression also. South Adelaide didn't play badly on Saturday. In fact, I'd wager they'd have beaten (or at least got very close to it) any other side in the comp the way they played. The sad fact is that Port as it stands are a class above in both standard and fitness, its simply not a level playing field.

Even though they lost by 60, I think South's fans should still be happy with how their team has improved this season.

There will be a doctor that forces them to play? Right......

I think you mean sling tackle. At first look the second part didn't look too good either, but looking at it again a south player actually pushes Moore from behind. He should of got more for it. The problem is both the SANFL and AFL are only giving out harsh penalty's to incidents that actually cause damage. The incidents which have the opportunity to cause harm but don't seem to be let go. My thought are if you are trying to stamp out head injuries then you need to stamp out the acts that cause them, injury or no injury.
