On behalf of the Eagles I apologise for not being an undisciplined team that gives away copious amounts of free kicks.

Still searching for that rule that says the free kick count must be even.

Five goals in a row in the 3rd quarter proved decisive.

No one said it should be even. But the same rules should be applied to both sides.

That's one quality cry baby post right there.

Good to see the Port boys out in force now that they have a decent team for the first time in 15 years ;)

Dont know how we started favourites.
Think most Norwood fans knew that this year would be a struggle. Cant keep losing half a side each year and keep expecting miracles. Approximately 30 players gone in the last few years and only 8 of last years Premiership side played last night. Think we are punching well above our weight this year considering. Think if any other side in the comp had lost that many players they would be sitting bottom[/quote

Port have lost more & recruited a new side!! ;) ;)

Yeh, of pro players...... enjoy it while it lasts coz you got this season as a freeby

Eagles were solid but well off playing at a level that will worry the PAP's. Still any time you can pinch a night win at Squealer Parade it's a bonus ;)
Nice to see Norwood still not embarrassed to make grown men flood on a perfectly good size oval...... how brave

You are nearly right - we have lost about 50 players over the past three years and are sitting pretty close to bottom! :?

A lot closer free kick count than when we played them In Round One when it was 27 frees to 12!!
The Eags are obviously playing in front and not giving away silly free kicks.

The wiggles dive more than the Italian soccer team.
Cry baby Fester??
You bet!!
Strange feeling after last night, so angry how we lost.
But feeling that last night was the turning point to our season.
Dugga just needs to channel our anger in the right direction.

Not just more scoring shots. More kicks, handballs, marks, tackles, hitouts, clearances, and inside 50s. But not more goals. Ouch.

I was there and give norwood their credit . They out played the Eagles all night . It appears Norwoods game plan calls for a large amount of ball handling . By this I mean kick the ball from one side of the oval to the other and then run !! This gives Norwood first and more use of the ball ,
Norwood held the Eagles much praised "tall" forwards by flooding quickly back .
I think I noticed Luke Normans influence in the Eagles coaching box those close in and hold up the Norwoods on ballers .

End of the day they norwood stuffed their own chances up in front of goal by not kicking straight .
The likes of Macgregor and Goldsworthy and co showed them how to make use of the ball in front of goal

Was thinking the very same JK
Easy to blame the Umps, but bad kicking is bad footy.
Got to admit the Legs were much closer than I thought they'd be.

JA top of the list for disposals. How effective is he these days?

Different to what you would have been used to at North Johnny .. His role is designed to be less racking up big numbers of disposals, but looking for better quality and accumulating them in better positions.

Looks to have lost a bit of penetration on his kick, but his workrate appears to be of a high standard still.

Interesting reading reviews from both sets of supporters seems to indicate Norwood played well and if not for missed chances may have been able to snatch the result - the flip side and perhaps most importantly is that the Eagles appeared to be below their best yet still got the points. Always an important quality in a legitimate contender.

Maybe the club can hire the Eagles tackling coach, apparantly they are the only team in the comp that tackles correctly!
