Sandersons message is not getting through and the players are doing as they please or the message is getting through, but it's shit.

Melbourne have shown with the right systems any team can stay in a game and nobody is going to tell me Adelaide's list ( at the top end ) isn't considerably better than Melbournes, it's much, much better.

So is it the players or the coach?

For some weeks now I've been questioning the coach. I'll continue to do so until something changes.

Adelaide missed Betts again on Sunday, when is he back?

Was Eddie out there today??

In some fairness mate on game day for 90% of the last 2 years he has been 1 very good man down in the coaches box. The situations Sando has been placed in I wouldn't wish on any one and none of it is from his own doing.

Now unfortunately he has a spare spot come seasons end and I suspect he is a true manager rather than a coach. If so he'll structure his support and we'll se a performance improvement.
Can you bring a man to his feet when defeat is on repeat?

I think it's time for truck to hang up the boots too. He still has value against the big monsters but he is too slow now. Getting games into Hartigan, Thompson and shaw is now more important.

Yeah, he popped up a couple of times and made the most of his few touches. Again Impey probably had the better of him for the bulk of the night until the latter part third quarter and last quarter where Betts kicked a couple.

I don't mind Adelaide putting all their egg in the Betts basket. He's not going to win you a premiership.

As a Crows follower-lite ( I don't go to matches) I've often been critical of them for being "star"- centric and playing to such players regardless of their being in a good position or not (e.g. Modra, Tippett) but I don't think they've been doing that with Betts - at least not since the first couple of matches.

They do sometimes give the ball to Dangerfield when he is in an impossible situation.

I've been impressed with Port's ability this season to have receivers lurking out wide without opposition to receive when the turn-overs occur.
Other teams still need to wake up to that.

You really think Impey had the better of him?
Impey has a lot of talent and did well in the first half but got smashed when it counted.

Only Port fans like you think we are putting all the eggs in the Betts basket. We are relying on McKernan to take us to our next flag.

Betts won this contest....

Betts goal from the boundary mid-last quarter was while Impey was off the field with a rotation. Betts first goal was a gimme from a Trengove brain fade.

Betts last goal was pretty much junk time.

Impey - 8 touches, and 5 clangers. Did lay 6 tackles though.
Betts - 19 touches, 4 goals, 4 inside 50s.

Not that I really need stats. It was clear on the day who won the battle.

we aren't like port supporters that have booked for the next 5 years if you believe all their propaganda.

Also rucci imploding is just priceless

one suspects this will be the highlight of the crows up and down season whereas port have a great chance to playoff in a prelim final at home :(

Betts won us the game in the last quarter. Best game for the crows.

Sauce and tommo really won it for us though. He smashed lobbe. Tommo was the one that was everywhere in the third to get us back into it

If a small forward gets three or more your man has been flogged. If you are standing a small forward and he gets five kicks for four goals then you lose. What you are slagging off at Betts for is the very same thing you were defending Daneil Motlop for a decade ago. Betts has a fine record as a small forward and yeah they paid overs for him, but I'd suggest that his recruitment paid dividends yesterday.
