The umpiring was completely irrelevant anyway, I'm pretty annoyed at the lack if character we showed whilst conversely our opponents was growing and ultimately brimming by the end.

Hard to believe after having a 4 goal head start that imho the scoreboard flattered us by the end.

I was starting to question the Eagles flag credentials in recent weeks, but yesterday might just have been the making of a strong run to the finish line for them - they would have re-discovered plenty of belief after their performance yesterday.

Have to agree. It was the Eagles who had a couple of questionable ones handed to them straight in front, but it was irrelevant.

I thought our season had been improving well since we last played the Eagles, but that second half yesterday was as bad as we have played all year. All is by no means lost, but there's definitely still some work to do.

If he was protected by the umps as much as the Eagles he might not of gone missing in that second half.
How much longer does everyone have to put up with the Eagles getting an armchair ride week after week, blatant cheating.

Funny from my vantage point the umpiring was just bad for both teams !
First half Norwood got an armchair ride second half eagles got a better ride.
Norwoods forward line was well protected by an umpire in the first half .Any touching of the jumper was paid as holding . Which of course is the correct call . But when the ball goes to the Eagles forward line same happens and the call is play on !
Free in front of Norwoods goal for a goal or play on in front of the Eagles goal!
Funny how holding the ball was paid to Norwood after Ainger had handballed the ball away !
So as I said umpiring wasn't great !

I think the game changed after Grocke went off injured . And Newton stopped marking everything and kicking straight .And of course the likes of Powell , Shwarz , Appleton shut Norwood down in packs !

And did Bomber take a fantastic mark on the grandstand wing !

Definately no armchair ride for us!
At one point in the second quarter decisions were 11-2 Eagles way despite us leading by 4 goals. We were pathetic in the second half and the Eagles totally outplayed from about the 20 minute mark of the second quarter

You have a very distorted view of history. I can remember a game at Woodville in 2011 when North were bottom and the Eagles were heading towards their premiership. Allan got 42 touches, continually won the hard ball out of the centre and inspired North to a brilliant come from behind win.
He killed the Eagles in a number of other games as well. I would have the "sheepdog" in my team any day of the week.

I wont stick up for holden
So why did your club show no interest in Allan when he returned to Adelaide

They said that they couldn't fit him into the salary cap.

I think that was a very bad decision.

First quarter, Norwood gave us master class in how to play the modern game plus, Eagles intensity was non existent.
Second quarter, Eagles showed a bit more and the game evened out, Norwood still in control.
Third quarter, Eags won contested ball and started to run and take the game on. I thought Legs also dropped intensity.
Thought Legs would hit back in last quarter but momentum was with the Eags who pretty much dominated the last quarter.
Norwood looked like we did against Strut in the second half a few weeks ago - insipid and clueless.
Thought Godden coached well after 1/4 time with some telling positional changes such as having Wundke and Ainger play further up the ground with Wundke especially doing some smart work. Conditions helped Powell, Appleton, Lewis and Schwarz play well. Will those players be as effective on a dry day with a firm turf in September??
Luck is where opportunity meets preparation

3rd quarter the rain was gone wind was less
And the eagles played football

A boggy ground didn't stop the eagles ! Wasn't it written on this site that the Eagles could not win in the wet .

One team benefited greatly with the umpiring
One team had the only use of a breeze in the match
One team scored all the goals after half time
That team won the game

Holden78 you are an out and out halfwit mate, any chance of piping down and stop making us Eagles supporters look uneducated, would be much appreciated

Given that most of the appalling decisions against Norwood were in the First half
Given that both sides had no wind advantage factor after half time
Given that the umpiring was baffling for both sides in the 2nd half
Given that Norwood ends up 24 points up at half time
I still have to give full credit to Woodville West Torrens for a great 2nd half , and victory
