Off topic
But worth a mention

Another Port wearing a 1914 heritage jumper

Port District Football Club v Goodwood
August 23
Port District will wear the 1914 Semaphore Central jumper

Please note
Semaphore Central aMALgamated with Exeter in 1979 to become Port District
Semaphore Central founded in 1898
Exeter founded in 1924
This Port can trace its roots back to the season of 1914

I played a season of junior football for Semaphore Central
Some wonderful times they were
Later I was to play against the PD cricket teams in cricket

There was an article on the Semaphore Central club in the Advertiser , Wednesday 30/7/2014
Several SC players of 1914 lost their lives during WW1

You will be contacting Port Districts to question the validity of their intent to wear another clubs jumper then?

If you're going to pretend nothings changed and the Magpies still exist at least show some respect and leave the Power scarves etc at home and bring your Magpies gear.
You're either Arthur or Martha but you can't be both.

They'd be working against a pretty low base so getting anything to court might be difficult.

AFL cannot help themselves

Made a little bit of sense to kick out the struggling qld clubs but these guys seem to be doing well.

Nothing really wrong with possibly wanting a new club above all of them in Canberra either but the lack of consultation is inexcusable really

Ahem.

They've obviously shifted the goal posts from the adding on 6,000 patrons, but this must debunk some of the criticism of the crowd numbers?

Where did the 6000 number come from other than out of your arse?

Article says 2000.

"Adelaide’s financial submission to join the SANFL was based on average crowds of 2000."

Does anyone actually have access to this financial proposal?

Clearly then, it is a resounding success. The Adelaide Football Club is the leading AFL and SANFL club in this state. That is terrific.

Typical response when presented with facts. Of course people around here that said crowds will fall will find something else to complain about.

And well they might, because for crowd at least it seems to he working.

Doesn't mean there aren't issues with the concept, but crowd numbers doesn't seem to be one of them, despite the hopes of some people on here

With that irrefutable truth, I take back all of my reservations about the changes and declare the AFL experiment in the SANFL an unrivalled success.
Everything is awesome.

Like I have said before. There are some legitimate issues that need to be sorted. At least in the short term crowd numbers don't seem to be one of them.

Question.

Will port have home games next year? Or will they go to a similar model as the crows?

that hasnt been announed as far as i am aware, however i think it was suggested a while ago that after this "transition" year (my word for it) the magpies model would move to be more inline with the crows model. anything could have changed more recently though, or i could be wrong altogether. that may or may not include port games at alberton. i believe the power are (understandably) very keen to retain their home games.

im actually curious as to what sort of review will be undertaken at the end of the season. at the North member info night (laughable name for it...) it was stated that the reserves arrangement would be reviewed yearly. i would be interested to hear of what aspects of the arrangement will be reviewed, what actions (if any) can be taken to correct any anomalies, and a time frame for the implimentation of any changes that come out of it.

initially i believe that any changes would take place not the following season, but the season after (so the earliest we could expect change would be 2016), i think the only changes for the coming 2015 season we can expect is the abolition of the magpies underage sides, although, yet again, that may have changed.....
