Freak.

Absolute freak. So he'll get to 400 games but will need to play 2016 to break Tuck's record?

Am I right in saying Boomer hasnt had a real bad injury over his career? He seems to always be playing and 9/10 times he has a considerable impact on the game. Amazing career

Yep, had an unbelievable run.
He literally may have missed more games through suspension than injury.

Well done North.

Spar go I see you had a shot @ my posts about Scott.

My genuine thoughts are that after 2 years of making the same mistakes he continuously asks questions AND makes consistent noise about things outside his control. It wreaks of a bloke who deflects and has no idea on what he's doing or worse thinks he knows and tries to continuously toot his trumpet on why he knows but can't explain inconsistency.

Brenton Sanderson is similar but in fairness to the bloke he has the most unstable ground to balance himself on in the last 2 years of which is highly publicised. Scott has had more support from the board than recent times and a fair list, shit if these blokes lose the first final he should be shot.

Devils advocate also if they win first up and let's be honest they ain't gonna win the thing then on history they set them selves up for a shot next year as they finish in the top 6. Throw it in my face if they do but I can't see it happening.

Yet when they beat Sydney away, Freo away, Port & then Hawthorn, all the Scott knockers were quiet.
Yes they're frustrating & inconsistent - and the coach takes some of that blame. Brad's comments are at times taken way out of proportion and read inaccurately. To say he can't coach IMO is just plain wrong.

On a positive, Daniel Wells, Nathan Grima, Jamie Macmillan & Joel Tippett could all make their returns from long term injuries through the VFL this weekend. If we're going to do any damage come finals time we need these blokes back - especially the first three named.

Disappointing crowd tonight, think I heard they need 30k to break even at Etihad so 33k against a Top 4 side on a Saturday night at a indoor stadium isnt great. Really thought 40k minimum for a game of this importance

North Melbourne coach says staging hurts Lindsay Thomas's reputation

North Melbourne coach Brad Scott has admitted forward Lindsay Thomas's reputation in the football world doesn't match his performance because of his staging for free kicks.
Scott said that while Thomas had worked hard to eradicate staging from his game, he would again confront his player about the issue after an incident in the Roos' loss to Geelong on Saturday night.
Late in the third quarter, Thomas won a free kick against his opponent, James Kelly for a push in the back, from which he goalled. While contact was made, Thomas threw himself forward to exaggerate the force of the push, earning criticism from his coach.
"I wasn't happy with that," Scott said. "Whether it was a free kick or not, just play the ball, mark the ball, and if you get infringed the umpire will pay it.
"We've worked on that, and I think he's improved over the last three, four or five years in that stuff. And it's pretty clear. I've said to Lindsay: ‘If you keep doing that, the umpire will assume you're doing it all the time even when it is a free kick'. So I'll speak to him about that again."
Thomas was North Melbourne's most effective forward, with three goals in the 32-point loss to Geelong. But Scott conceded that Thomas's reputation as a diver had coloured judgments of his performances.

I was ranting and raving but in hindsight you can't blame Thomas. The umpiring was utter shite so why not have a bit of a flop, those idiots wouldn't have seen it without the 3.3 degree of difficulty.

In the first half Geelong got goals from some absolute howlers. That free against Harvey for that little shove on Christensen was an absolute joke. Then we got another goal with an error on an out of bounds on the full call. It was a tough decision but the umpire clearly wasn't sighted and just guessed.

Then at half time 'the word' had obviously gotten out to the umpires to pull their heads in. Then Guthrie comes in an upends a Roo man right in front of the umpy who paid the Harvey free (Farmer I think his name is). At this stage I was shitting bricks. Here come the 'square ups' and sure enough they came thick and fast, especially thick. One of the frees North got in the third was the massive dive to Thomas but technically the free was there. He would have had so little faith in the officials he obviously decided to bung one on.

Thomas is a great little player but this sort of thing is why he won't gain any respect. As much as Selwood cops the razz from oppo fans he is still putting his head over the pill. The Geelong equivalent is Stevie Johnson and it pisses me off rotten when he does it. He did an embarassing flop as well. The flop has no place in our great game and both of these players are far too good to have to resort to its use.

Having a better officiated game might help.

regards,

REB

While the Thomas dive wasn't great, he simply exaggerated the push that was there, the ones we need to clamp down on are the dive when there is no contact at all
