Well with everything on the line what a c**t of a day to put up our worst performance in about 3 years. Not acceptable that guys at this level cant kick straight from 30m out, poor goal kicking has haunted us all year and its one area that the club hasnt addressed. Defence tried their guts out and the mids were solid but it must be heartbreaking for them to see all their good work upfield being undone by schoolboy kicking at goal. Gray and Summerton destroyed us as usual but there were plenty of passengers out there for Port, expected alot more from Impey but he looked like he didnt want to be out there today. Pretty confident we can see Port off in a final if we meet them but for now we have to beat the Cows to get a double chance first. Good to see a decent Norwood turnout at Alberton today

Denying the sky is blue doesn't make you right either.

The Magpies are Port Power's reserves team, don't really know how you can argue that point.

I guess you could also argue that norwood are a feeder club for port ... but doesn't lessen the rivalry.

Obviously your fans think it lessens the rivalry. Out of the 4-5k crowd there today atleast half were Norwood supporters
Gone are the days when a dozen Norwood supporters would huddle on the outer wing fearing for their life
Felt almost like a Norwood home game today, hardly copped any abuse from Port fans today

People like you remind me why feeling sorry for the Magpies, and the Power I guess, over the last decade was a deeply misplaced behaviour.

What absolute pricks I've been looking forward to watching this Port v Norwood game.

http://www.ourguide.com.au/tv_guide.php ... aide&w=now

I'm getting a bit sick of this chopping and changing games all the time.

Finding out this shit 20 mins before the bloody game starts, I could've made plans to go out today if I had've known they were showing South/West FFS

Maybe if those plans had been to go along to the game it wouldn't have made any difference who was on the Telly. ;)

Great game of footy.
Could have gone either way.
Great defensive effort by Port reserves in the last quarter.
Congratulations on Port Reserves beating Norwood for the first time in the SANFL comp.
Ledger now 1-1 all between the clubs.

In all seriousness it shows the gap between the AFL and SANFL these days.
A 2nd eleven AFL team was able to beat arguably the best SANFL A grade team in the comp.

Thought the Legs got the slightly better of the umpiring , but the umps overall did a very good job.

Krakouer got fired up early in the game, anyone see what caused this ?

Wouldn't the Bob McLean cup have been more appropriate?

That is correct for now Dols.
But if one club President is to believed then it isnt for much longer.
He believes there is a growing push from the clubs and a possible vote at seasons end to change the name to Port Reserves and new stats to reflect this. And BTW this wasnt my clubs President

Wont happen RR, the majority of clubs have no cojones but in any case it belongs on another thread.

Norwood lost because they couldn't kick straight. 21 scoring shots to 15, bad kicking is bad footy.
No need to big up Port anymore than they already are.
Sturt fans might have an opinion on who is arguably the best sovereign team in the comp right now.

If Norwood kicked straight the game could have been over early. Misses after the half time and three quarter time sirens also proved costly. Norwood were all over us in the last and could have taken the points, but a great effort by Port to keep cool when it counted.

Gary Smallridge Trophy would be about the extent of the rivalry as it stands now.
