Rucks
Jacobs, Sandilands (2?)

Small/Medium Defenders (choose 2-3)
Burgoyne, Malceski, Nick Smith, Brodie Smith

Priddis LOL. Gets a nom for being a consistent player over a long period. Lots of the pill but how effectively did he use it? A strong second half of the season gets him over the line, the same for Ellis. No probs with Ward or Libba's gong.

Ok, here is my first crack at it. Was pretty hard haha. Reckon they wont pick all 3 of harvey parker and gray like i have, and will probably put another mid on the wing, but i think they all deserve it. was pretty hard for the last few spots. If i was in doubt i mostly tried to pick someone from a team which was higher on the ladder, not always though.

F: Breust, Roughead, Gunston
HF: Harvey, Franklin, Parker
C: Gray, Kennedy, Heppell
HB: Brodie Smith, Talia, Malceski
B: Burgoyne, Rance, Hooker
R: Jacobs, Fyfe, Ablett
Int: Rockliff, Sandilands, Pendlebury, Lewis

Emg: Boak, Martin, Gibbs

Miss:
Betts, Ballantyne, Beams, Hawkins, Lonergan, Selwood, Ward, Schulz, Ellis, Riewoldt, Priddis, Liberatore, Nick Smith, Taylor, Mackenzie

He probably won't, but it's a very strong season even with his efficiently being down all the way at 8th.
I think MacKenzie will make it tho.

F: Bruest Roughie Harvey/Lewis*
HF: Gray Buddy Parker
C: Heppell Kennedy Rocky
HB: B Smith Talia Malceski
B: Burgoyne Rance Hooker
R: Jacobs Gazza Fyfe
Int: Selwood (c) Priddis Pendles Sandi/Lewis*

*Wasn't sure on where to put J Lewis has had a better year than most so snuck him into a pocket.
Would love to have fitted Dusty in but couldn't.
Rance makes it after his efforts on Sat night against Sydney what a gun!!!
Luckiest to be in are no doubt B Smith & Burgoyne, small defenders a little light on in the group of 40.
If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation.

Watching Goldstein play every week, I was really surprised he didn't even make the squad of 40.
Very rarely beaten and far better around the ground than Sandilands & Jacobs. He rucks for 90% of the game & IMO is North's most important player. If he went down we'd be screwed.

Stats don't lie...

Jacobs 8.8 kicks per game, 7.5 handballs, 4.1 marks, 34.7 hitouts
Goldy 3.9 kicks per game, 8.0 handballs, 2.2 marks, 34.1 hitouts

The only stat where Goldy is better is Tackles...

Sandi and Jacobs clearly the best two ruckman this season.

How people can continue to overlook McKenzie astonishes me. Don't let Rances brilliant effort over the weekend fool you that he has been a better key defender over the season because quite simply he hasn't.

McKenzie has consistently beaten the best forwards in the game for the past two years yet out of sight out of mind.

Talia, Rance, Malceski
B. Smith, Hooker, Burgoyne
Rockliff, Kennedy, Fyfe
Gray, Franklin, Beams
Breust, Roughead, Gunston
Jacobs, Ablett, Selwood

Heppell, Priddis, Lewis, Ballantyne

I admittedly don't see Mackenzie every week, but Rance had 4 kicked on him by Buddy mid-season and apart from that hasn't been beaten.

It is a fair point. You have to be much better outside Melbourne to get a jumper.

And i think he was. Better than Hooker for mine and just as good and played more games than Rance.

Got beaten by Roughy down in Tasmania and apart from that i can't remember him losing.

Rance missed several games IIRC, I think if you miss any more than 5/6 you can't truly be considered.
