Mal:
Bradley Hardie
Brent Harris
Daniel Feeley
Jake Birchmore
Jason Earl
Joel Montgomerie
Jordan Clements
Robert Montgomery
William Farrelly

TW:

Simon Feast

U:
Heath Pym
Jamie Solly

C: Clements, Seccafien, Hardie

HB: Pym, Flynn, Birchmore

B: R Montgomery, Pontt, Young

It's hard as you could reason either way for a lot of players. Still all up for debate.

What is the above team and the positioning of players in the team actually based on? I cant possibly be form in that position.... as guys like Pym, Beard, Harris, Howell rarely line up in these positions.

Yeah, I guess not all positions will reflect exactly where those players actually play, other than the rucks generally.

Howell rotates forward but not often deep forward, usually off a flank, as most attacking mids do (Duncan, Allmond).

Pym never plays half back, well, rarely, plays there in association and zone teams though, which is also unusual.

Beard in a back pocket is a stretch, he played predominantly wing.

Can't pick Harris at FF but he should be in the team. So I do agree, it's not an exact science, just an indicative graphic I guess.

Ideally you get them as close to their specific position as possible.

If Pym cant beat the other midfielders in the comp in their position, as good as he is, he misses out, this should be based on results this year, and he hasn't had his best year, although certainly not the worst. Earl play HBF changing on the footy, better fit from your 35

Feeley would be stiff not to make a true FP role if you ask me, i understand you cant fit Allmond, Howell and Duncan on two flanks as rotating onballers, so maybe put one on the bench.

I reckon if you swapped Harris and Heberle would be a little more accurate, Harris Plays deep, I reckon Heberle plays up the ground for Hamley with Hanson deep.

but again you could go back and forth with multiple names and postions

So to fit Feeley in, who do you boot from the fwd line, or subsequently, interchange?

Fair call on Pym too, perhaps picked out of habit, I don't know.

Rowe is an interesting one. 14 times in his team's best from 16 matches. That would usually command a spot in TOTY.

Howell to HFF, Allmond to the bench (he did miss a few games through travelling and was injured late so not able to perform to his normal standards)
Pick who you like to kick from the pine, whilst they all might deserve to there, you cant fit them all in.

Pym played all year on ball and swapping forward. Maybe put earl there, hard to leave out the next medalist;)
Also beard played wing all season and cannot remember him losing his position. Swap him for hardie who he comprehensively beat twice and shared honours once
If you don't like it, change it. If you don't want to change it, it can't be that bad!

A fair effort to name a team like that, always a tough job for anyone
Very interesting to see only two Balak players in the squad (Michael and McPharlin) with only Michael in the end side.
Initially thought it may have been some bias (or lack thereof) towards your own side, but looking back it is definitely a fair call

Surely Lachy Michael could have got a starting gig on the field though (on a wing over Brad Hardie would be my suggestion)?
Especially as one of my favourites for the league medal (as established by the lack of teammates in the TOTY, he won't have to contend for votes and could poll plenty of 1's and 2's when Balak lose)

Would be very interesting also to see how well the APFL would have gone in Kadina had this been the association side.. not sure whether this would have suited the 5 under 21's rule (may need 1 or 2 more) but a great side none the less

Probably not enough standout candidates from Balaklava.

We played large portions of the year without Dawson and Storic.

Stewie Lamond has actually had his best year since I've been at the club but whether he shunts someone out of that line-up, I don't know.
