So the crowd will be the usual Port v Norwood crowd plus a few more because it's a final and at AO. Stop the press.

Does anyone know the lowest finals crowd between these two teams?

Zero

You're suggesting that they've actually met in a final and no one showed up.

First ever final for the Power reserves.

Really hope Norwood win.

First final for the Magpies since 2008 as well as the first between these two sides since that same year.

Really think that Norwood have dictated the style of game between these two sides this season. If they can do that again, as I think they will, I think it'll be a Norwood win. However, if Port can open things up early and start well, it could be a very different story. Norwood by 3 or 4 goals.

That will be nothing compared to Sunday when they wonder why the Power are wearing their Reserves guernsey in the main game!

Since World War II, I would suggest that it would be the 1973 Elimination Final played at Norwood Oval. The crowd was 17,000. The Qualifying Final between Sturt and North was played at Adelaide Oval at the same time. Given the comfort factor, I think that most neutrals would have attended Adelaide that day.

Interestingly Norwood vs North in the first semi at Norwood the following week drew marginally more than the Norwood vs Port Elimination Final.

Hard to get a number on modern era crowds in finals between them of course due to the double headers. Unable to find a crowd figure for the first week of finals in 2008 when they last met!

Was somewhere between 15k - 20k IIRC .. Sturt v Dogs in 2nd match on perfect day made for an ideal crowd

15,825 apparently. Which would make it less than the 1973 EF that robranisgod is referring to, even leaving aside the 2008 EF being a double-header.

Someone who played for Norwood that day was only recently telling me tales of the unltraviolence between he and some nuggety Port back pocket player during this game. Ray Hayes? Some name like that anyway. They just kept thumping each other off the ball for the entire game.

As a parent of a young kid who plays footy I was appalled but as someone who grew up watching footy back then it made for disturbingly entertaining listening.

There can be no highest or lowest crowd between these two sides in a final as they have never played each other in a final before.
This is the Power reserves not the Port Adelaide Magpies who ceased to exist last year.
I believe Norwood will win and play Sturt in the Grand Final.

Page 80 in the paper today: 'Magpies coach Garry Hocking says Port Adelaide is yet to decide how many players will be held back from its SANFL final against Norwood...' Note that it's 'Port Adelaide' rather than Hocking or the coaching staff who are determining the make up of the side. This will be the first ever Sanfl final with this level of external influence on a team. It's a blinking semi final, and the AFL clubs might be holding three players back. Goes to show where the Sanfl is heading.

There will be four coaches in the boxes on Saturday. Three of them are picking their teams.

Sometimes players listed as AFL emergencies play games that weekend, some don't. Nothing new.

Three emergencies from the one team is. As is a reserves team playing in a second semi final when the club, and the reserves coach, are more interested in winning the first team match the following day.
