Brilliant venue. Works well with upper stands closed for the smaller crowd. Would be great to get regular Friday nights of SANFL at Adelaide Oval, even if needing to close some facilities to limit cost of opening.

For those of us who remember AO during September how could you ever grumble for what we are given now. Superb facilities, superb viewing, superb playing surface, the serve of chips I got tonight for $5 was probably 20% to much and a bottle of coke for 5 bucks is way over the top, and the AO staff were very curtious, polite and helpful, South winning both games have made it even better.
I wish my remembering was as good as my forgetting

Agree with most of that. They ironed out the bugs from last week and was much easier to get in this week. Had a good day out yesterday, only disappointing thing was the beer selection which was compromised because of the AFL today. As an ex publican I dont understand their justification about time constraints regarding beer variety. Its not that hard to change kegs

Yeah what's the deal with that .. Do CUB only sponsor the AFL finals series? (Because the week before we could buy Squires and there was an AFL match the following day)

Not sure, the guy behind the bar explained that CUB had the contract for the AFL today and they wouldnt of had time to change the product over at the conclusion of last nights game. I do find that hard to believe.
Are Lion still not the major sponsors of the SANFL? Reckon they would be pretty peeved if so to not have their product available for a finals

I would have thought that wasn't an issue Jim.
I always think of South supporters as non drinking church goers.
Sturt fans would have brought their own disguised in Diet Coke Bottles
Norwood fans only drink Latte
And Port is an AFL reserve team
So CUB was the correct choice afterall

I think the reason why the gates opened late was because of Richmond training session. The sanfl would made sure they got the Richmond supporters out before they let in supporters to the sanfl game

Wrong.
Gates opened at 1.45. Richmond were training for at least 30min once the gates were opened to the public. Richmond supporters were up in the top level of the eastern stand and I'm guessing were ushered out once Richmond had finished training.

Richmond supporters were herded up to the top level of the Eastern stands to watch them train. Once they were done they were kicked out just before the first bounce of the early game
