Dont think the Bays were too impressed with Valente for the late change of mind.

They reckon he did the same thing to another club last year.

Doubt they will see much of Chadd anyway. Were looking for a fast bolwer to replace Munting, but may still be light on with their pace bowlers as both only 19.

Woodville in state of Chaos, was always going to end in tears taking Dean Sayers back after it happened the last time he left!

Who is coaching the Peckers now anyway?

Maybe they should seal the deal first with lodged paperwork before announcing to members that a new recruit has arrived.....

Agree Heater, not well handled by the Bays.

Am surprised Cameron would even want to leave, been there since a little tacker and been given a great go. Bowls plenty of overs and bats in middle order, made A Grade century. Sometimes get caught up in the thrill of being chased!

Too true, his grandparents were extremely disappointed with his initial decision based on previous events around the club. Even SACA didn't want him to move, announcing him as still Adelaide with the emerging Redback program.

Thanks Angry Bull, Sam seems to know his stuff, should do well.

Interesting both West Torrens and Woodville have their Bank SA coaches now as the Head Coach!

I think naggets should still be able to hold them together. Seems to be a good club man and plays the game in the right spirit, hard nosed on the field, but first to have a beer with the opposition after the days play. also a handy bloke to know if you want to win some TAB $$$$$

Had an interesting chat with the curator of Salisbury oval on Tuesday, he informed me that SACA have allocated funding this year to improve and help manage the 13 grade turf wickets around Adelaide. They apparently will provide specialized machinery, state of the art covers (blow up ones) programs for improving the outfield and pitch management and provide feedback or training if necessary for curators. To my understanding SACA have identified a gap between the quality of grade pitches compared to Adelaide oval with funding the major issue in most if not all cases. In a nut shell what SACA is after is continuity between grade level pitches and Adelaide oval so grade cricketers get essentially similar batting surface/conditions of Adelaide oval so when a player makes the transition from grade to state cricket they are well prepared to handle the pace of a state prepared pitch. As this is the first year the results may not be seen for a 2-3 years but i believe the SACA is going in the right direction.

They want first class standard decks. Not the tripe that say a Price Memorial Oval dished up on occasions where some A grade matches were done well before 5pm with outright results.

SACA looking for year round management of grounds to ensure that both summer and winter users of the grounds have the best surface possible given the conditions.

You mean like this?

http://www.cricketsa.com.au/content.aspx?p=1210

Or this?

http://www.cricketsa.com.au/library/201 ... e%20a4.pdf

SACA makes money from membership, sponsorships and profits derived from cricket events at Adelaide Oval, plus 50% of non footy/cricket event profit through SMA. That's a basic version of it.

 one would think that would be the first oval to be looked at heater

I'm only speaking for Salisbury oval as it is managed by the City of Salisbury and i used to work for them, the other 6 months of the year it is a Salisbury FC ground so that would be a SAAFL issue and one would guess that a bi-partisan agreement would need to be entered into as i dont think SACA will pay for football oval management. The Salisbury council previously paid for ALL ground maintenance and labour until Bruce Jolly passed away then a review was done, Salisbury council nearly canned all maintenance until an agreement was reached where half or some of the maintenance cost was paid by Northern Districts CC i was told. I'm not sure who controls the other 12 grounds and employs the curators so that could be another issue in itself
