Did they question how many jumped off due to poor on field performances?

As you very well know, most memberships are sold before the season kicks off.

Still don't let that fact deflect you from your rose tinted view

Anecdotal evidence in this thread suggests otherwise. As I said, teams that start 5-1 get members on board, teams that start 1-5 don't.

So whilst I agree most memberships are sold prior to the season many people are busy with work and life and would often not renew until they actually realise the season has started or indeed when they get the opportunity at a home match.

When you're talking about 10% of a little over 2000 it's not unreasonable to think some of those were due to on field performances.

Just curious Benny, what'd be your guess for the decline.
North made the GF the year before so not likely to be due to poor on field performance.
No price increase
Assuming most memberships are bought before or at least very early into the season you can't really blame this year's poor performance.
Chances are many disgruntled fans told the club what they can do with their membership and why.

Go one, take a stab.

Disgruntled fans would make up some percentage for sure.

There would also be a lot that are also crows members that might choose to just get their sanfl fix with the free games there.

Economics is certainly a big one. As much as love them, my crows membership is probably one of the first things I would cut if money was getting really tight.

Yes, that sentiment does irk me greatly.

Only so many hours in the week, especially when 40 of them are spent working/studying etc.

Perhaps if they want to be in our comp they can pay, say $3.2m each on top of the current set-up so we can pay our top 10 players an average of $80k each so they can be full-timers, and then the $360k salary cap amongst our remaining part-timers.
Can imagine those numpties reaction to that.

Centrals membership down by 20-25% on last year.

10% blamed on afl reserves.

Very generous imho!!!

YET NOT ONE PHONE CALL FROM THE CLUB TO CHASE ME FOR MY MEMBERSHIP OR WHY I DIDN'T RENEW.

AND THEY WONDER WHY CROWDS ARE DOWN?????????????????

WILL ONLY RENEW WHEN THE AFL IS OUT OF THE SANFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :butthead: :butthead: :butthead:

So you clearly stated that you weren't going to renew, and subsequently didn't, and also didn't attend any games.

So what exactly would have been the point of the club calling you?

But does the club know he was boycotting them?

What if you didnt renew for whatever reason
Should you expect your club to chase you up ?

I get phone calls from the club to sell me raffle tickets each year so I would hope they call all non renewing members. 30c phone call to put $80+ in the bank sounds like a good business move to me.

I am absolutely fair dinkum

IF any SANFL club would like to pay me a commission to resign members who have not renewed , I am available
Pay me 25-50 % of each membership I obtain
I can send them all an email, at no co$t to me , except my time
If they don't have an email address , it will co$t me a stamp for less than a dollar

Today would have been Grand Final day if Our League had not bent over to cater to the needs of a foreign league.

I did seem strange without the GF on the regular weekend. It was always my last football fix before the jelly backs took over. Shame really.
