That's one way of looking at it I guess, but it's that's like saying that whats his name from Hawthorn is a better coach than Sheedy because he won a flag at Central..

See what I'm saying?

Except you've just built up a massive straw man.

There's a considerable difference between saying that Alistair Clarkson is a better coach because he's won a flag at Centrals to saying that Alistair Clarkson is a better coach, he's won flags at Hawthorn and has been able to it at Centrals.

Just because something isn't determinative it doesn't mean that it's irrelevant.

I stand by my original comments though, trying to rank coaches in terms of their ability viz a viz one another is pointless. It is entirely subjective as we can never control the other variables that would affect their results.

For example, if Mills or Macca was coaching Kilburn last year they still would have lost 18 games and gotten relegated. Does that make either a poor coach?

God no -

and for the record I don't think Clarkson beats SHeedy. ;) It's just the most relevant comparison I could think of.

This is also a reason I cant stand those 50 best player thingo's that Sheehan does.

But always makes for interesting discussion nonetheless - and that is why we're here 8)

Not sure where to post this so il try here.

Why do these headings all include AFL in the title?
Does the AFL stand for Amateur Football League or Australian Football League?

Few exiting Gullies. Pollock to Sydney and van Ristell to Gaza, hearing a few young lads looking at Hills Central. Wicks and Golding retiring from A-Grade.

How old would Wicks be now? At a guess he would have been mid 20s when he won a flag for Sturt so does that put him in his late 30s?

If TTG remain in Div 8 (who knows how Div 7/8 will play out) you'd put them heavy favourites right there

Maybe. Young talent still has to filter up to fill the gaps though.

Seriously?

Must be country, wouldn't go anywhere else in the Amateur League (wouldn't have thought many could afford how it would cost to pry him away from Goodwood)
