Our kpp's are just fine. We lost both our key defenders at the same time, we would never run with another defender like Trengove or Carlile you also wouldn't be able to keep a player of their quality sitting in the wings waiting for a game. Rucks we were unlucky that our 2 backups had knee injuries and were out for most of the year. I'd be very surprised if any team had 4 genuine ruck man on their list, we also had players like trengove and whestoff that could help out when needed. Our forwards is looking very strong with Paddy lets whestoff move up the ground where he plays his best footy, plus we have the like of wingard, gray and neade doing the crumbing. Our midfield is young and fit and improving each week they play and have shown they can take it up to the top players in the league. I'm more then happy with the quality of our list and I think this year you'll see just how quality it is.

Yep nothing short of a flag will be a failure, starting to smell a bit like 2001/02/03 down at Alberton

Yeah maybe but with the additions the hawks have made already you would have to say the same for them as well. Then there is $ydney as well.

We should give a good crack, but there is 3 other teams that will be there as well, Hawks, Sydney and Freo.
We're on this journey together, One Heart, One Club and they will Never Ever Tear Us Apart.

Hate to break the bad news but everyone starts on 0 wins at the start of a season, there's no credit from a previous one. :D

Discount the other 14 teams at your peril.

I tend to agree with Days here I believe there's a clear top 2 in The Hawks and Swans, Freo and Port on the next line and then a log jam of teams around the same mark, But I certainly believe the premiers will be inside that top 4.

Saying that, It is October a lot will happen between now and then. Injuries, Suspensions etc
you've gota keep on keep'n on .........

My crack at 2014 player reviews for the PAFC. I'll start with 23 tonight, and get around to the other 22 over tomorrow and the weekend:

First up..

47. Sam Russell (Rookie List)
SANFL Stats:
2014 Games: 12
2014 Disposals: 99 (8 disposals p.g)
2014 Marks: 25 (2 marks p.g)
2014 Goals: 0

Career: 0 Games, 0 Goals

Selected with the clubs first pick (pick 13) in the 2013 Rookie Draft as a small defender, 18 y.o Russell had a mixed season. A hamstring injury sidelined him until round 9 of the SANFL season, and was able to gain some invaluable experience in the latter stages of the year, featuring in 12 games including 2 finals. Whilst Sam is highly praised for his defensive attributes, a more consistent season showing improvement in his offensive play will be the focus in 2015.

45. Daniel Flynn (Rookie List)
SANFL Stats:
2014 Games: 15
2014 Disposals: 172 (11 disposals p.g)
2014 Marks: 47 (3 marks p.g)
2014 Goals: 0

Career: 0 Games, 0 Goals

Recruited from Ireland as a category B rookie- Flynn has progressed in his development and general understanding of the game. Returning from Ireland after a 2 month visit home to spend with family, Daniel debut against Adelaide in Clare, and progressed in great strides throughout the latter half of the season. At 190cm, he possesses electrifying speed to go with great body size. With improvement in football nous and skill level- Power fans hold hope he will develop into a damaging half back flanker.

46. Sam Gray
SANFL Stats:
2014 Games: 14
2014 Disposals: 321 (23 disposals p.g)
2014 Marks: 64 (4 marks p.g)
2014 Goals: 8

AFL Stats:
2014 Games: 7
2014 Disposals: 83 (12 disposals p.g)
2014 Marks: 25 (3 marks p.g)
2014 Goals: 6 (1 goal p.g)

Career: 7 Games, 6 Goals

On the back of an outstanding 2013 season, finishing runner up in the Magarey Medal, and winning the A.R. McLean Medal as the Magpies Best & Fairest, Sam was rookie listed by the Power for the 2014 season. He was upgraded to the senior list in place of Mason Shaw, and debut for the Power in their Round 4 clash with Brisbane. Despite an exciting debut, Sam was unable to cope with the increased speed and physicality of AFL football, and would need significant improvement to become a mainstay in the Power’s best 22, next season.

44. Tom Logan
SANFL Stats:
2014 Games: 17
2014 Disposals: 376 (22 disposals p.g)
2014 Marks: 131 (8 marks p.g)
2014 Goals: 8

AFL Stats:
2014 Games: 3
2014 Disposals: 51 (17 disposals p.g)
2014 Marks: 58 (6 marks p.g)
2014 Goals: 1

Career: 117 Games, 27 Goals

Tommy’s days in Power colours appear done, after he was demoted to the rookie list in the 2014 off season. He remains a vital cog around the club as a leader for the Magpies, and loves to get involved with the development of Port’s young players. Tommy will almost certainly spend all of next season with the Magpies, but remains a popular member of the club.

43. Karl Amon
SANFL Stats:
2014 Games: 20
2014 Disposals: 310 (15 disposals p.g)
2014 Marks: 86 (4 marks p.g)
2014 Goals: 15 (1 goal p.g)

Career: 0 Games, 0 Goals

Drafted with pick #68 in the 2013 draft, Amon belied his draft ranking to have the strongest season from our 2013 draft crop, minus Impey. An x-factor player possessing silky skills and electric pace, Amon’s consistent season, saw him named travelling emergency for the Power’s round 18 clash with Collingwood. More consistent performances at SANFL, matching his outstanding 21 disposal 4 goal performance against North Adelaide, will see him push for senior selection in 2015.

41. Brandon Ah Chee
SANFL Stats:
2014 Games: 19
2014 Disposals: 295 (15 disposals p.g)
2014 Marks: 89 (4 marks p.g)
2014 Goals: 11 (1 goal p.g)

Career: 0 Games, 0 Goals

2014 was a breakout season for Brandon, his 3rd on the list, and his first full season at SANFL league level. A strong 2nd half of the season for the Magpies, including a 20 possession, 2 goal game against South Adelaide in the PF, gives Brandon great confidence heading into the 2015 pre-season. With another 1 year deal- it is make or break for Brandon, to see if he has what it takes to play AFL football.

40. Aaron Young
SANFL Stats:
2014 Games: 6
2014 Disposals: 136 (22 disposals p.g)
2014 Marks: 24 (4 marks p.g)
2014 Goals: 4

AFL Stats:
2014 Games: 14
2014 Disposals: 153 (11 disposals p.g)
2014 Marks: 33 (2 marks p.g)
2014 Goals: 5

Career: 31 Games, 12 Goals

In a similar boat to Moore, Youngy was no more than a midfield pinch-hitter in his 14 games with the Power this season, playing mostly as the sub. A tough inside player, next season remans crucial to his long term future.

38. Ben Newton
SANFL Stats:
2014 Games: 16
2014 Disposals: 396 (25 disposals p.g)
2014 Marks: 85 (5 marks p.g)
2014 Goals: 14 (1 goal p.g)

AFL Stats:
2014 Games: 4
2014 Disposals: 40 (10 disposals p.g)
2014 Marks: 9 (2 marks p.g)
2014 Goals: 0

Career: 4 Games, 0 Goals

Newts finally managed to get his body right over the course of 2013, and it was no surprise that a ripping pre-season and strong NAB challenge performances had his name right in the ring for a senior call up in 2014. He had to wait until round 7 for his debut against GWS, and was used mainly as the sub for his 4 appearances at AFL level. His performances at SANFL level clearly demonstrate upside in his games, and Ben has nominated for the 2014 AFL draft, seeking further opportunity at another club beyond season 2014.
