Big difference between lodge and kilburn... Kilburn picked the hard road and Lodge took the easy way...

Does the above actually apply to Kilburn though?....They just got relegated in consecutive seasons to end up in div 4.....If they get a team together and crack it for a flag in 2015.....not to much wrong in that I would think.....unless you were making a point other than being assigned a Division for whatever reasons.

No different to payhnam in recent years really. May not have got flogged by as much but they flew up divisions then crashed back down just as fast and have now risen again.
You don't go down 3 divisions in a row with out losing a whole bunch of players each year. And ya don't come back up unless you get players back of fresh new faces . Good on kilburn and brahmas if they can win the premierships this year

Brahma's situation is different, they are selecting which grade to be in, they should be in Div 4 this season instead of Div 6.[/quote]

Sometimes you just have to bite your tongue, very easy for a few guys to go back there now knowing they are in Div 6. Well done Kilburn.

Will Flinders Park be able to recover from the loss of club icon Jake Fuller to arch rivals SMOSH?

Did the league just ring you blokes up one day and say do you want to go down 2 grades or did you ask them?

What ever happened to the principle of seeking a flag and getting promotion? If you're in the comp you're in it to win it, surely? If you make the GF you should go up. If you can't go up because you don't have numbers or the cash (the latter would suggest you might be trading insolvent), should you have any choice other than to fold for the season, get yer act together, and start off again at Div 7. That's incentive enough to either make it work or make a tough call.
IMO (and I am not arrogant enough to think this is the only way to look at it) spend the money on developing a culture and a feeder source. Juniors, or linking with local schools to develope a good relationship, or both, is where the focus should be, not throwing money at flags and blowing your reputation. Yes, it is inevitable that some inducements need to be made, especially as you climb into higher grades, but within your means and with eyes on next year and beyond. Premierships are only worth winning if they build your club history and culture, not if they send you broke.

Early November start. Good on em! Hopefully they put the extra few weeks to good use. I'm hoping we are right up there when it comes to fitness. Gives us something to chase.
