The fact more people usually die in Australia per year falling out of bed than cycling on our roads but does that make front page of the paper?
Perhaps we should install safe beds along Frome Street or install a lower speed limit in the bedroom?

That might have the added bonus of preventing slats from breaking....

As much as I dislike where I work now, I didn't have it in me to bail on them on such short notice.

Because of the fact that nobody knows how to do what I do, and the company pretty much can't function without it being done, I didn't want to affect everybody else.

If I get another job, Id like at least a week to try to teach someone as much as possible.

I honestly don't mean this in an insulting way, but if it only takes a week to train the replacement then you should look out for yourself, they will be fine.

having been made redundant after 39 years with the same organisation i decide to rock up to the local Centrelink office on Thursday, first time for me, wanted to see if i could get a job, the customer service officer was trying to make me fill out forms for benefits, i told her i want to work so she redirected me to their free telephone service, after talking to an automated system i was then told i would have to wait 90 minutes to talk to someone, one thing i noticed was the dropkicks that frequent Centrelink and the crap those customer service officers put up with, anyway found a job through a job agency so im happy.

You did the right thing. You never know when this could come back and bite you in the future.

Is this because the current employer might end up bad mouthing about you to another employer in the future because you left in that way?

They won't bad mouth a employee because it could bite them in the future. But telling a employer some true facts could hurt. If I had found out a person I was looking at employing had just up and left a job without notice their resume would go straight in the bin.

It was because I felt bad for the people I would leave behind with the problems, with no notice.

everyone else just never does it, like its beneath them or something.

So just over a month ago, in protest I thought **** THIS I am not refilling this shit anymore.

today marks the 5th week I refused to refill the hand towels in the work toilet.
today marks the 5th week we have not had any hand towels in the work toilet

Not being able to go to Foo Fighters in March. Devastating.

Saw them in '08 at the Ent Cent and in 2011 at AO but doesn't make it hurt any less.
