who?

Panozzo played 194 SANFL games for both Glenelg and Sturt. I believe he retired at the end of 2014. Very strong defender, but no spring chicken, he would be about 32. Good get for Morphies if his body holds up.

Would have to be. His junior affiliations are in the South East.

This is where the points system is a joke, if true the blokes played 194 SANFL games i say he's done his time...yes he is from the South East... but has set up life in town for properly 10 or so yrs .... i agree currently he is worth 4 points .... at 32 if thats correct with a dodgy body as stated that experience would be great for the young players to learn from ...... why should clubs be penalized because he didn't play juniors at the club he has chosen to play at in town, surely players like that be 1 maybe 2 points only ..... this is where the system should change ........ 32 and older 1 point, 30 to 32 yrs old 2 points, 27 to 30 yrs old 3 points, 27 and younger 4 points ..... this is only my opinion but fairer for all clubs

Fair points, but it's only an issue if you don't have the points to use. Hasn't been much of an issue for clubs to get them if they have applied.
Don't know about the dodgy body bit, all I said was that he was no spring chicken. May be in peak shape. As I said before, he's a good get if he's in good nick.

19 games in the magoos and 1 league game.

Makes him a 3 point player doesn't it?

I was under the impression it is averaged out over 2 or 3 years. I would suggest because he was at a league club he is a 4pointer.

I thought is was all based on the previous season in what they played when heading to a different league/club/level in the following year.

So in this case Panozz played majority of games in the reserves (19 out of 20) so going into 2015 based on the SFL allocation that would make it the 3 points?????

Just ask the SFL for more points and it wont matter...

I may stand corrected but i am fairly sure that League and Reserves are classed as one competition so he would be a 4 pointer regardless of how many games he has played in either grade in the previous year. The only difference in points comes from an U18 player. I could be wrong of course but thats what i believe..

C. Major League Players

A player who has played a majority of matches for the Senior team of a Club or Clubs in a Category One or Two League in their previous playing season – an additional three (3) points should be added in the case of a Category One League and an additional two (2) points should be added in the case of a Category Two League.

The Community Football Board has created the following two category lists;

(a) Category One Leagues
· AFLNT, AFLNSW/ACT, AFLQ & AFLTAS
· Reserves of WAFL, SANFL & AFLVIC
· South Australian Amateur Football League – Div 1 2 3

He would be 3 points according to the above

On the contrary Vics , a delegation from NFC has just returned from a successful sojourn to Darwin and secured a more than handy recruit for 2015 with possibly more to follow , theres going to be a bit of movement on our list with retirements etc but squeezing us on points wont be much of an issue , you just have to look back at what we achieved last season with 23 departures and 3 season ending injuries in the pre season .
Maybe you would like a complementary bottle of our premiership wine to appease your concerns about us , its called Winefly Tears , I'll even throw in a box of Kleenex for you
