Abbott/Liberal Govt Watch

Labor, Liberal, Greens, Democrats? Here's the place to discuss.

I had some hope for the old Democrats who seemed a bit like the Liberal Movement, especially back in John Coulter's day.

It was sad when they sold out to the power machine of the ALP under Cheryl K and lost their independent credibility and middle ground support. Thereafter, they were a much more left party and that led to there vulnerability to the rise of the Greens.

I hope the other posters are reading between Psybers lines here

I think he is trying to work out if he can trust the SA Footy family to vote for him, to hand out the how to vote cards, to put up his face all over town on stobie poles

He even has a name for his party!!!!

the times they are a changing....

i was too young to know much about them tbh.

still reckon a centrist party would be good, though in this day and age, hyperbole and three word slogans trumps balanced rational discussion hands down.

You mean her personal credibility, and the seat the ALP put her up for in return for having been Gareth Evans' "squeeze" and ultimately joining the ALP? ;)

This is what I was talking about before. The cuts that were made were not due to a 1% budget cut. It just didn't add up in the end and I think the CEO was using it as a good chance to cut some programs that were always on the chopping block.

The same as the State Govt did hiking up the ESL and selling off the MAC.
They had every intention of doing it - just need a good excuse to blame someone else

Interesting that Daniel Andrews says although he doesn't agree with Tony Abbott about the E-W Link, he wants to work with him on other projects
Completely the opposite tack to Weatherill who doesn't want to do anything but blame Abbott for his problems
Mind you, Victoria is solvent with a $1.3b budget surplus rising to $3b pa for 2015 - 2018
They have the money to actually do something - no need to throw rocks at other people
