How about this for a theory.

If you weren't meant to play in a div in 2015,. don't play there - we've seen too many examples of it ending in tears and this is why we will now this unevenness until it all pans itself out again through natural selection. Glenunga is possibly the only club to disprove this theory to a degree.

I don't understand why you'd jeapordise your own clubs success to do a favour for a struggling club that hasn't done the right thing. At short notice and without the appropriate pre-season or preparation, the best you could hope for is NOT to be relegated - and that isn't what any club should strive for.

That does sound funny doesn't it. It is because the last line that is written is not mine. It was from the previous post from Robb Stark. It wouldn't let me quote more than 4 people so I started deleting previous comments and pasting stuff in an accidently pasted my comment in the middle.

So you dont think their can be much difference in skill between 40 clubs (80 teams)?

I think a hard working run all day div 6 premier should handle a div 3 bottom side with ease

Because 1 team has 18 men willing to run the hard yards for the full 4 quarters, the other team might bust their gutz right up to the 10 minute mark of the second quarter and then pull a cant be **** and shuffle their legs over for the rest of the game, getting smashed by men who have a higher finely tuned lung capacity who can easily travel another 3 to 4kms to win the game

Thats a pretty big hypothetical. What if both teams bust their arses for 4 quarters?

If that D3 bottom side was Kilburn, that I'll accept. But otherwise

Good question. Firstly I doubt a bottom side is willing to bust their ass for the whole game

But yes, victory is then determined by quality of ball use or even who's forwards are kicking straighter

But don't be so delusional in yourself and believe that just because your in a division lower than your opponent, that your will power and capacity to run, run, run is inferior

Id hate to be a club who is recruiting men who are only capable of performing at div 4, div 5 levels cos they'd be spuds

The difference between div 1, div 2 teams and div 5, div 6 teams is the combined total each player is willing to run in a game

Each player in div 1 might average 5kms per game

In div 5, each player may average 3kms per game

Div 1 = 21 players * 5kms = 105km travelled total

Div 5 = 21 players * 3kms = 63km travelled total

On this theory, a div 1 team will travel 42 kilometers further than a div 5 side to win the footy within a football oval

So what our friend Marbles is trying to say - is that Kenilworth players in D4, don't run anywhere near as much as Walkerville players in D2, during a home game.

I would like to think I have a decent grasp of this, having been part of a team for 11 seasons that has fluctuated solely between Division 3 and 4. I can say the gap is very significant. Talent alone can get you through some games in Div 4, it just doesn't happen in Div 3. You are made to work your ass off for every win (Kilburn 2014 aside). We have had a side with quality that has not differentiated that much between 2005-2014, in that period we have not made the finals in Div 3, but not missed the finals in Div 4.

Any team who finished mid-table in Div 4 would be mad to go up IMO. Plympton won a Div 4 GF by 20-goals in 2013 and couldn't make the finals in Div 3, any side who finished 3-4 places lower in Div 4 would struggle to win a game in Div 3.

Marbles is off his rocker.

any bloke who cannot comprehend the concept of gut running, to travel distances or 4-5kms in games of football is a moron

spectators (ie: Footy Chick) who never in their life have had to bust their ass and run another 100 metres to chase a football, after just running 100 metres in the middle of a 4th quarter where he or she has already run 5km so far in the game

i dont have to preach to you guys, infact i hope you all stay as lame unwilling amatuer underachieving footballers who fear divisions above them

plympton failed, but hey look at PNU, geeze theyre still slack **** div 4 players, but somehow theyre in div 1 now, no way are they gut running footballers according to all you buttheads

Aren't you campaigning for a C Grade Super League because you don't want to play against teams of similar ability like you do currently? Pot. Kettle. Black.

Would PNUs now Div 1 side be the same side personnel-wise that ran out in Div 4 marbles? I would think not. I used Plympton as an example because they had a very similar side from Div 4 in 2013 to Div 3 in 2014, minus Dunkley but add in Proplycia and Marston.
